I almost fainted just reading 116°. We are in the mid 80's today and that is to hot for me.

Echeveria derenbergii Sept 2010 and 8/3/2011. It looks like it is trying to be a sedum. My fault. was still indoors until today with now water for a very long time. Shows you how tough this tender succulent is.

It has many tiny rosettes just waiting to be harvested for more plantings.

It stayed in beautiful multiply rosettes until a month ago. As I said it was my fault it went all leggy. It is easy enough to remedy. Give it water and cut it back, making new plants with the cuttings. The original part of the plant will send out new rosettes. : )

Holly--that Hibiscus with the blue pot is fabulous. I love the way blue pots set off some of the brighter colors of foliage and blossoms. I think blue pots are my favorite, and I have many of them!

I am new to them, I was aiming to ask was there ever a plant swap of these beauties. I am in zone 6. Would they need winter protection?

Hi Teresa. Welcome!
Glad you found your way here.
Yes there are many people here that do swapping/trading of plants. The best thing to do is if you see something that interests you, send a tree-mail to that person asking if they would be interested in trading plants with you.

You can also start your very own plant list here at ATP. See the link at the top of the page (List). Go there and follow the easy directions and start a list of plants that you have.
You can show them as have, want, trade.
Also as you go through the Plant Database, you will see to the right side of the plant entry a blue button that you can click on and that will had the plant to your list in what ever category you have set up in your List.

Thank you, I am working on it. I have been a plant addict quite a while. I love your containers!! Could you give me a link to the recipe you use and some instructions. Have you made the leaf castings?

We made some containers this summer they turned out great. I have been wanting to do leaves for years but just never seem to get around to doing it. I have some plants with very large leaves that would make nice impressions. In the summer I never want to sacrifice the big leaves and then in the fall when I am cutting them back I seem too busy to take the time.
Life is Great! Holly
