This may look a little nuts but this is a PDF of the plants in the new Prayer Garden as they are now or will be planted. I put it in WordPerfect Tables to move things around before planting because I don't know how to photoshop!! The first image is the left side of the bench and the next image is the right side. The last image is an actual photo of how it is now. I did it so I could see colors together.
I like your pdf. Here in the next few months I'm getting a laptop for myself. I'll be using it to track my lilies and such. I'm starting to get into hybridizing them. So I can use that info to fact check and follow bloodlines. Track how the plant grows shape habits colors etc. Bloom time. You get the idea.

Good luck with that Dave. I keep track of the daylilies but don't get extremely technical yet. More the scape height and bloom size and when it blooms.
My daylilies are a hodgepodge of shapes and colors. I have moved daylilies around so much that while they started out with the taller ones in the back now that is not always true.

It seems that some varmint thinks the new plants in my new Prayer Garden are quite edible I am hoping they come back next year because I would hate to replace that many! But seriously - the Joseph's Coat climbing rose! The thorns should have deterred whatever it was "Praying" they stay away from it
It's a shame when you sell a beautiful place to people who let it go. We had that happen. The land had a well, but they didn't use it to water anything. I went by a year later and it was a brown wasteland. So sad! I also wished I'd removed more of the plants.
I just finished reading the lonnnggg first page of threads and I am so impressed. I can't wait to catch up to the last and be a part of discussion. I just want to lazily go through the pictures and admire all you've done. BRAVISSIMO

I can't wait until next year. All of the gardens have been added to. Between daylilies, lilies, allium, coneflowers, shrub roses, hydrangeas, peonies, etc. etc. I am really anxious to see what happens next summer. And by the way, I just found out a week ago they are going to have my house on the local garden tour next June Spring will be a busy time, but I hope it's far enough along and not so new that it doesn't show well. I still think it needs another year or 2 but I always do
Wonderful news, Ginny! Your garden will be perfect just the way it is next June for the tour and I'm sure everyone will be in awe of it
I started a sitting garden the summer of 2009 and now it is so overgrown, I wish I could take it back to 2010. Contemplating taking some things out next spring.

Vickie - I used to have some great sitting and resting areas in my previous garden - I created several shaded vignettes, but this garden has so much sun it's hard to create that type of area until some of the shade grows up. My problem is I'm so busy planting, pulling weeds, and generally taking care of the area I don't have time to sit when I do have an area Need to work on that one!
Yes, sitting areas are a must LOL. I try to incorporate someplace to sit in every garden area. I need frequent breaks and if there is no place to sit, I've been known to lay down on the ground wherever I happen to be working for a little R&R. One time my brother in law was coming up the lane and saw me at the property entrance asleep on the ground by the foot bridge going over the creek and then when he got up to the house he saw Mike asleep on the ground in the front yard I was thinking I'd catch a little nap while he was working hard up at the house and I guess he was thinking the same about me working down at the bridge. Caught - Richard ratted us out to each other!
