Google Chrome is my favorite browser. Asus is a really good brand for the price, also.

I would go with the best specs. I would also skip extended warranty. They are a marketing scam. If you use your laptop the way it was made to be used then you shouldn't have any problems. Every now and then you see a bad lemon, but how often does that happen? Most of everything come with a one year manufacturer warranty. If the product is a lemon then it should give you problems right away before your warranty is expired.
When I first moved here from NYC, I had to buy everything new. I bought extended warranty on my furnitures, which cost an extra $200 that I never have to use. Same with my appliances. I build and repair computers and laptops as a hobby and I can assure you that the internal components last a very long time. Most of the time you will have to upgrade before they even go bad.

I have been taking pictures and posting from an IPad Air pretty much the last almost two years! No problem whatsoever!!

@tinng321 Tin, you're right! A one-year warranty is usually included with the purchase.so an extended warranty isn't necessary. Companies just want to make more money. Glad to know we have an in-house computer expert. :smily:

@Ursula Thanks for your suggesting of IPad. The only electronic device I carry outside of home is my smart phone. I don't need a replacement, yet.

My uncle keeps watering my adeniums. He came here from Vietnam to visit and I understand that he doesn't have anything to do and probably bored. But watering my plants 3x a day is a little excessive. My seedlings are in this black tray. It doesn't have any holes for water to drain. Arggggg!!!😡

I have a gripe about video advertisements latched on to a site being viewed. Those things are using up my allotment in GB bucket for the billing cycle! When I notice it, I will place the video on pause to prevent further usage of my GB's. What could I do to prevent these videos from popping up?

Thank you, James! I did click on the link, and guess what? A pop-up video came on, "How-to Videos" How to search Gmail.

You can install ad block plus for free. I have really enjoyed having it on my computer. I can now go to sites that I could not before because of all of the blinking obnoxious ads that would play on the sides. It blocks all of that!

I have malware and it does not stop gigs from being used for flashy ads. It changed my internet habits having this available. I live in a rural area and have to tether internet from our phones. I tether the internet from my cellphone to my laptop too. My internet provider must be getting some more competition...they increased my GB bucket from 4 to 5.
