Getting old is when you stop to think and forget to start again....
I experience this on a daily basis.

Getting old is remembering when you are shopping for an outfit in 2016, the vision of mom pulling out a oversized (that you can grow into) pink or yellow gingham dress for you to try on from the1960's .
Kids from poor families did not acknowledge other kids from poor families in the local bargain stores. Too embarrassing with mom holding up some hideous skirt or top and you looking around to see who is watching you.

Yes!! Always too darn big. Or leftovers from older sisters.

And the shoes..they were tied through the back near the heel with string!

I just found this thread and read every one and laughed my butt off You know you're old when you keep telling your daughters the expiration dates are merely suggestions and they post pictures of the dates on Facebook and laugh at you

I have a friend that is always posting pictures of things from way back when on Facebook and asking if anyone remembers it - I remember them ALL I just don't say so on Facebook since I'm still telling everyone I'm 39 again, and again, and again and even the grandson looks at me and tells me "you're not 39 grandma!"

I can relate to the "do you remember" posts. Many of my friends post the old style dances we did and the music we sang and danced to. It brings me back to the time when I was really innocent.

The twist, slide, stroll, the mashed potatoes, the monster mash, the monkey, the dog, the pony, to name some of fun dances. Remember the electric boogaloo, the Hustle and the Disco? Yes, I was there.
Now I really feel old, the brain is still there but the body has left the building.
