You are old when you still remember the sound of the ice delivery man, coal man, milkman and the knife and cutlery grinder on a little wagon.

And the fish peddler,the vegetable guy, and the rides that came on a truck..and the soda truck and...the fearsome terrifying DOORBELL... Signaling the DOCTOR IS HERE...with THE BAG...with the NEEDLE!!

And the guy at the garden center that sharpened my pruners just right for me ... yeah ... I do miss that a lot.

Oh yes, how could I forget the Dreaded Doctor who made house calls.

That doctor SMELLED like the needle....

Today at McDonald's, a young worker asked if he could bring my tray to the table. Took me by surprise. I said " I am not that old". Not something that they ever do at this location. Thought to myself that I better hurry and drink my coffee so that I can perk up.
Felt real old.

Cleaning crew is doing my house. I mentioned the breezeway. You know, that enclosed space 'tween kitchen and attached garage. They had never heard that term before. Is that an old people thing? Something from the past? Gene

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do... and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Some Points To Ponder:
