There's not, but when the feature gets a bit more mature I'll be making much easier access to them.

Thanks, Dave!

Would I be correct in thinking that this might be the best place to enter and access seed images and propagation from seed information? Or would they not be specific enough?

Yes, that's right. Information that applies equally to all cultivars is best put in these encyclopedic entries.

chelle said:Nice!

Is there any way other than bookmarking to tag or star the entire encyclopedia of parent plants?

Just wondering ...... Big Grin

I agree with chelle, I keep getting lost- couldn't find the encyclopedia of parent plants either. So for now, in firefox, I've bookmarked it so that it shows up in my bookmark menu under *recently bookmarked* then *ATP: Parent Plants*

Chelle: Nope ... just learning as I go along. I get real frustrated when I go searching for something I read previously and can't find it! I'm sooo glad Dave gave us this wonderful *Star* feature!

I got itchy fingers and can't fix something. Can you capitalize the 'chicks' in Hens and Chicks? Sticking tongue out
And I assume Lynn will want 'Beard of Jove' as the common name for Jovibarba heuffelii as the common name or maybe Job's Beard because there also is a second entry on that list for a Job's Beard (Jovibarba)

Or Jupiter's Beard, as it is called elsewhere. Lynn will let me know if she wants those changed.

I changed Hen and chicks to Hen and Chicks.

Sorry for getting here so late. : )
beard of Jupiter, I notice they don't make the b (from beard) upper case, is that correct? Not to be confused with Jupiter's Beard (Centranthus ruber).

On Sempervivum, Houseleeks or Live Forever is used much of the time. Hen and chicks (chicks not upper case) is associated with many other plants including sempervivum. I am not really sure which is correct.
Would be great if we could have all three of those common names. But I guess that would not look good in the semp listings. Blinking

Not at home right now, but will be in about 2 hours.

>> Would you like to have access to the Salvia entry? At the very least, you could get it started and someone else could carry the ball after you're finished.

I'll give it a try ONLY IF it will be easy for you to delete the whole record if I take it in a wrong-headed direction.

And thank you, no matter how unwise the offer was!

(My thought is that, as soon as the real Salvia experts in ATP see me fumbling around, someone who knows something will volunteer post-haste.)

Lin's method is probably easiest overall, but if you take the time to edit your signature block once, you can have a one-click link in every post you make.

(And "shift-click" will open the list of all Plant Parents in its own window or tab, so you can keep reading the thread you are in, while looking up something in the Plant Parent Encyclopedia.)

Remove the spaces before and after the square brackets, and paste it here:

Apropos of the Crepe Myrtle section, Dave, in the interest of uniformity, wouldn't it be best to settle on one spelling for the common name of Lagerstroemia? Most of the entries say "Crepe Myrtle," but a lot say "Crape Myrtle."

http://garden.org/plants/brows...

Wikipedia says it's either/or, but it then goes on to use "Crape Myrtle" throughout the article and in the photo captions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...

When I Google for "crepe myrtle," Google ignores my spelling and just shows me pages and pages of "crape myrtle."

Good point Sue. I had always spelled it Crepe until a few years ago when someone told me it should be spelled Crape. It helps when things are consistent.
