Amazing that the Phal still looks not too bad either, Lindsey. Thinking you might want to yank that croton outa there and plant it somewhere in your yard - they make a big shrub if left to their own devices. Not what I'd call a pot plant.

Elaine...I tried awhile back, but the Phal roots must have taken over..and that's about the time the bromeliad died.. Glare
Across the street from me is where old multi plant planters go to live out their lives, and if the Phal doesn't send up a keikei..that'll be its next stop!

It would be interesting to experiment with plants that have the same water needs as phals...if all were cheapies. Not very impressive when none are in bloom though. I think I'll pass.

It's the last day of October! Ahhh!! Where did the month go? My husband would now remind me that I may have over-volunteered myself. If I don't show you photos today, I won't get to.

I saw Splash in Hawaii at every farmers market we went to that year (its been several years ago now). It went onto my wish list on the spot. I found it at a mailorder place in Hawaii that seems to have gone out of business. Emma's Surprise was my free gift from them.

The black flowers on Max. schunkeana are sometimes hard to find because of their color. I usually miss the first couple. Its been blooming for the last month and looks like its not quite done yet.

I forgot to mention that the flowers on Haraella odorata are only about 1/2 inch wide. Also easy to miss.
