Great lady !! Loved and missed immensely.
Brings to mind a song that has been etched in my finite brain. "Oh love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in thee............I trace the rainbow thru the rain and KNOW the promise is not vain".
Hearth felt sympathy goes out to her family and dear friends.
Like Sharon, I believe that life is not about our personal accomplishment but the lives of those that we have touched, influenced and helped along the way.

I believe this is the last article that Sharon had published (October 1, 2016):

This is an article that really struck a cord with me when I first read it and still does:

I am so saddened by the news. Sharon was such a wonderful special lady and touched so many of our lives. We struck up a friendship in correspondence years ago and her words of compassion and wisdom helped me through some difficult times back then. Every one of her stories brought a smile. She will be so missed.

Sharon and I were not close, but she made me laugh over on Garden Art with this crazy mannequin she dressed up and told stories about. This was quite a while back.
She had a terrific sense of humor and was so incredibly artistic.

I must agree with @Vicki that Dave and Trish have given us all many opportunities to enjoy friendships from around the country with people we've never met. Thank you, Group hug

Every time I start to write something here, I start crying. I hate it that she is gone. She was such a gift to all of us, and I will miss her for the rest of my days. She was one of a kind!

Here is her blog, which is so enjoyable to read. I can smell the flowers that she writes about.

I am missing Sharon terribly. She is the sweetest, kindest, and most generous person I have had the fortune to have known. Here is our last T-mail correspondence on Sep. 11, 2016:
Sharon said:Love those acorns, sweet friend!! Thank you,

Rainbow said:Wonderful article!

Sharon said:Thank you. I've been out of kilter this summer and till now hadn't seen your newest avatar. Love it!

Rainbow said:Thank you, Sharon! I, too had been out of kilter this past summer. But our "spring" season is coming real soon and already I'm perking up.

Sharon said:Me too, Kadie! Yay for us!!!!

I am such a jumbled mess of emotions right now I should stay away from the keyboard.
However, as limited as I am by profound sadness and this undeniable feeling of violation like I've been robbed, I wish to express deep gratitude...

That is awful news. I didn't know she was unwell. I last I chatted to her about a painting she wanted to do. She was quite taken with a photograph from Tropical North Queensland.

She was a splendid person. I will put candles for her in the garden.

When Sharon disappeared from Dave's Garden I felt a real loss. When I found her again on All Things Plants I was overjoyed. We had a few email exchanges and she made me feel like a friend. I think she did that with almost everyone. I also loved her stories. Who wouldn't. She will be missed.

Someone asked how old she was. She was 73 and would have been 74 on Nov. 20th of this year.

What sad news. I didn't know her personally, but there are some people to whom I have an instant and inexplicable sense of respect for upon reading their posts, and Sharon was one of those. When I saw her beautiful painting being offered in a previous NARR, I remember thinking what a kind, compassionate soul she must be to donate something that took so much time, vision, and love to create. Our paths didn't cross often on ATP/NGA, but I didn't expect it to stop yet, her time was most definitely cut short. I had no idea she had any health issues, she seemed to be so vibrant and timeless in her own way. And, perhaps, she still is, in her own way...

Sharon, may you rest in peace and remain in the hearts and memories of all that knew you.

My condolences go out to her friends and family. Crying

My condolences to Sharon's family and of those who loved her.
As the above post stated, I also did not cross paths with Sharon that much but when she did pop into the daylily forum she always had some great advice. I don't think I ever remember a time that she was nasty to anyone but always went out of her way to answer any questions that someone may have. May she enjoy her new life, free from sickness and sorrows.

Sharon will be missed by many whose lives she touched and my heartfelt condolences
go out to her biological family and to the family of those here and on various threads who
knew and loved her. Despite her wish that we not mourn or shed tears, I cannot stop the
tears from flowing. We'll meet in heaven, dear Shar!
