Sharon's beloved Sunshine. I always marveled at the amazing level of communication Sharon had with her. They were inseparable. I grieve as a result of the loss we have all endured. But it's Sunshine's loss as well. I hope she can find comfort with whomever has taken her in. She will need it most when the thunderstorms rage.

The first emotion has been shock. Energetic people such as Sharon have always seemed immortal to me.

Second emotion is imagining her above saying to herself: "oh, so this is how it feels and looks", and organizing her notes so she can write and paint about it.

Although I never met her in person, Sharon had the ability make you feel as if she was an old friend that you had known forever. She was always helpful when asked a question. Her stories about Aunt Bett and Ninna were a joy to read. She impacted so many lives in such a positive way. RIP dear friend.

A few years ago we had Rose Week on ATP. I contributed a lovely Rose Encyclopedia as one of the drawing prizes and Sharon won it. After that we chatted for a while. I showed her pictures of my late Wives quilts and she shared some of hers. I showed her a work of art by one of my Grand Sons and she was very sweet in compliments. We chatted about other things in our lives. Though I never met her she seemed like a friend. I always enjoyed her stories. Adieu...........

On my customized home page, I placed "Random Idea" over Recent Community Ideas. I look forward to reading the Random Idea posts whenever I refresh my home page. There are some really great articles and ideas that pop up there. Today I am especially looking for anything of Sharon's. Just now I found this one:
http://garden.org/ideas/view/S...

Okay, let me get to the point...it would be so nice if for at least a 24-hour period, only Sharon's works will show on the Randon Idea feature as a tribute to her. Angel

I agree
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

I just found this thread today.
Sharon was a blessing in my life as she was in so many others.
She encouraged my writing about plants for honey bees
She cheered me up when I was going through chemotherapy treatments
Most importantly she taught me to tuck memories in heart pockets to carry around with me. That has been something I've had to do a lot this year and now I am tucking away memories of this very special lady.
Rest sweetly my dear friend I know you are checking out all the antique plants that no longer live here on Earth and painting the heavens for us to enjoy. I'm sure you'll inspire someone to write something really awesome for us to read as well.

Does anyone know Sharon's wishes for charitable contributions in lieu of flowers? And/or a link to her obituary which often has that information along with a guestbook to sign? Thanks.

I've googled but haven't yet found an obituary. I did find a nice autobiographical article that Sharon wrote about her life in The Mountain Eagle dated 5/11/2011 but for some reason I'm not having any luck copying and pasting the URL:

I was able to share the article on my FB page so if any of you are on FB and would like to see it, search for my name, Lin Vosbury and send me a friend request.

@plantladylin Thank you so much for posting the above link. I have just finished reading it and it brought tears to my eyes. Sharon will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Jean, I was so happy when that popped up when I went searching for an obit. I truly enjoyed reading it too. Like many others here, I never met Sharon in person; I only knew her from this site, cubits and DG but she was truly a gracious lady who befriended everyone. Yes, she truly will be missed.
