Dnd,
Hang in there with Elena's night and day snaps. I have those too. I'll put a pic up this evening. They should be almost as deep a color as the black princes. Just a shade lighter. I love the night and days for their smell. I don't know if they are supposed to have a scent, but mine do. I did plant some bronze snaps this year that turned out more yellow than bronze. I don't really care for those.

Dnd's, you will find that perfect piece of land before you realize it. I hate where I live. I want to go back to Mississippi lol. But, I can't part with everything we have accomplished land/garden wise so here I will be for awhile.

Karen I love Snapdragons I just can't keep them alive here , Thank you for showing them and the garden , very nice ,
I don't have the room for a large row garden If I play it right with squares I can grow bunches ,

I have a lot of seeds and plants to play and plant and grow , It seems though , That tough , strong , old standards is all I can grow

DnD Lots of Morning Glory types here also Kind of an end of season bloomer here or about ,
Coneflowers Echinacea , and Wild flowers seem to be all I can keep alive
In the Butterfly garden if a plant is not chewed up I feel like a failure

Dnd, I meant to tell you that I had Aroma Red Spice snapdragons last year. They are supposed to be a fragrant black prince type. Well, I was disappointed. I may try them again, but the fragrance wasn't there for me. I thought why bother when these Black Princes are so beautiful?

I also hope you get some seed from your frosted sunsets. I had hoped mine would come back from last year but they didn't and so I'm going to want more seed. They were really pretty.

Here are the night and days I got from Elena in the first swap. They are a bit brighter than the Black Princes. But still a beautiful snapdragon.

Thank you Karen! I thought maybe it was me because when I smell the Aromas Red Spice snaps I barely smell anything. The NYBG has some of the other colors and I couldn't smell them either. They are pretty though.

This is my first time growing tall snaps and so far, so good. I have all mine in the front yard which is tiny. I wasn't going to plant them there but since I have a very tall mountain garland out front by accident I figured I might as well. Two of the three plants are blooming right now. I hope I get seed but since the Alumia Vanilla Cream came back I guess I won't know if they crossed or not. I haven't seen any pollinators but something is pollinating the mountain garland so I know they are out there!

You guys are making me so hungry for blooms! I am very excited to eventually see the night and day snapdragons...I was pretty excited to get them in the swap. This year, like last, I got a late start because I thought we were going to move. We might still move this year, but I am not going to let this year go by without planting some seeds! Normally everyone around here says to plant the last week of May, so I planted about two weeks late, but oh well. It's all an experiment for now, I suppose, but below is a list of what seeds I planted this past week. Not all of them are from the most recent swap (in fact, probably quite a few aren't since I tried focusing on planting as many older seeds as possible before they become infertile).

(I will update this on my laptop in a minute with member names tagged where I can)

Lobelia, Fountain White - @bxncbx
Moonvine (Moon flower) - @QueenDreama - (I haven't seen you on here recently, I hope all is well! I'm really looking forward to seeing this Moonvine!)
Pea, Super Sugar Snap - @RickCorey (I threw a tomato cage in the giant pot that I put these in, but I haven't researched again whether or not they need it--I forget!)
Vinca, Jaio Dark Red - @bxncbx
Ipomoea Purpurea (Morning Glory), split/feathered purple - @Luvsgrtdanes - I got SO MANY great Ipomoea seeds from Ronnie, but I'm trying to keep the seeds pure, so I am only growing one or two this year, collecting seeds, and then growing 1-2 different varieties next year, and so on... (I had to chuckle, the description actually reads "spit"/feathered purple - love it!)
Hibiscus, Hardy - @HeavenlyFarm - must be from the second swap since you couldn't make the most recent one...I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next All Seeds Swap, by the way!...
Painted Daisy - @ediblelandscapingsc - makes me think of my dog 'Daisy'...
Poppy, Hungarian Breadseed - @KarenHolt (I'm really looking forward to these, although I hope it doesn't self-seed too much or my backyard will be full of poppies next year!)
Pansy, Swiss Giant - @bxncbx
Gayfeather - @IJsbrandtGA
Squash, Jarrahdale - @EricaBraun - this was the squash that Dave and Trish recommended on one of the ATP podcasts, so I've been excited to try it for awhile now...although I actually planted it 10 days earlier than the calculator said to...
Poppy, White Linen - @patrob - from beta swap, I think
Nemesia, Paintbox - @bxncbx
Zinna, Cut and Come Again Mix - @EricaBraun , I think?...
Columbine, Black Barlow F1 - @GardenQuilts - I think I remember reading somewhere that Columbine seeds don't germinate well after the first year, so I have my fingers crossed (they are 2015 seeds)
Parsley, Moss Curled (Organic) - @bxncbx
Nasturtium, Climbing Phoenix - @Acacius48 - I'm really interested to see how these climb...I have to remember to go to the store and pick up a trellis for this!
English Daisy (Bellis Perennis, Super Enorma) - @bxncbx
Heliotrope, Dwarf Marine - @bxncbx
Zinnia, Will Rodgers - @EricaBraun
Bells of Ireland - @vma4922
Baby Blue Eyes - @bxncbx
Rudbeckia 'Irish Eyes' - @vma4922
Cosmos, Bright Lights - @KarenHolt
Heuchera sanguinea, Firefly - @Pistil
Snapdragon, Frosted Sunset - @bxncbx
Snapdragon, Night + Day - @bxncbx - I'm so excited to see these! I just hope they don't self-seed too vigorously...(my neighbor has snapdragons of all colors popping up everywhere in the grout/sand between her walkway pavers)
Lily of the Nile - @LynneHTx - from beta swap
Cucumber, National Pickling - @vma4922
Bachelor's Buttons - @Trish , so those must have been from the beta swap! I love blue flowers...
Blanket Flower - @DownHomeDee - must also be from the beta
Sunflower, Vanilla Ice - @EricaBraun

I'm hoping to get out and plant a bunch more seeds soon, but I can't really plant any of the cool-weather veggies like lettuce, spinach, etc. and I don't have much space for anything else in my garden beds at the moment. I need to either purchase land soon or get more raised garden beds set up in my own yard (...something my husband isn't too keen on). Nearly everything I plant from here on out will be in pots until we get some land.

Alright, everyone, just a note that I got the 2017 Seed Swap up! Recruiting is open now, so you're welcome to join and get an early start.

I'm a little ambitious again this year with my turn-around date...I really want to have everything out in the mail before the end of November, if possible, so we'll see how it goes. Crossing Fingers!

Jim, does the red parfait come true from seed? If so, I'd like to have some of it. If you don't mind...

Val, I thought you might like to see your prairie sun rudbeckia I winter sowed this year. It's finally blooming. I'm really excited about it. This one and the Goldilocks are the first and only ones I've gotten going this year.

Okay Jim, I don't feel so bad that a lot of my plants are still pretty small too. I have a feeling I'm going to have to overwinter a lot of perennials inside this winter because they aren't going to be big enough to plant out!

I just wanted Val to see her Irish Eyes rudbekias I have going. They have turned out so pretty. I really do love these. I only have two of them but they are in my diamond garden and they really set it off. They are the ones to catch your eye and make you look, lol. Thanks Val, I really love these.

@luvsgrtdanes Ronnie, it isn't huge yet, but this past week I gave it some old daylilies stalks to climb instead of the nearby potted Iris that I had to keep removing it from. Hilarious!
