So this zucchini is kinda unusual with the two colors. The variety is called Zephyr.

This mottled one with stripes is called Caserta.

Beautiful zucchini, Rita. Thankfully our farmers market this morning was well-stocked with zucchini, so I picked up a round zucchini and 2 lovely yellow pattypan.

Store bought Zucchini not very good around here. I only eat it in the summer when I grow my own.

It is hard to beat a good squash simmered with onion and tomato and a bit of oregano or basil... I can never decide whether green or yellow is better though.

Yum! What's your favorite way to cook them? I like to put them in a vegetable lasagna or just cook them in a skillet for a side dish Smiling I have put them in my stuffed peppers too lol.. I had so many I just mixed them in with the beef and rice Blinking

A neighbor lady from our street uses them cooked with chicken and rice. I usually just grill them or slice up smaller pieces to stir fry them. But they can be easily added to many vegetable dishes.

My favorite: Zucchini, yellow crookneck squash and chopped onion fried in butter, and served with mashed potatoes.

That sounds interesting. I would have never thought to combine with mashed potatoes. I am going to have to try it. I think I would really like it.

I don't mix the squash into the potatoes, it's just a bite of potatoes, a bite of squash. Especially delicious adding fresh ground pepper as the squash and onion are frying. Gotta have my pepper grinder!

I'm having zucchini envy *Blush*

My one lone cocozelle zucchini that germinated (and only has about 3 sets of true leaves) was infested by squash vine borer. I did get out the nasty borer, but not sure if the plant will make it or not. Why can't I grow zucchini???? Sighing! Sighing! Sighing!
