I don't know anything about Charcoal Eyes & Silver Sides, but you are going to LOVE Wild Dreams. It has a beautiful pattern even when the weather is burning hot in July, it's fertile both ways, and quickly rebounds after being transplanted. I can't wait to see mine bloom again this summer!

Thanks for the info about WD, I bought some of Freds seed earlier trying to get some patterned CVs and as luck would have it, these became available. Cant wait to see them in my garden.

Who me, hide new CVs from the DW

When my Larry was alive, he would sometimes attend club meetings with me, especially if food was involved. We used to have our late summer picnic and plant auctions at a nearby lake so he could ( fortunately for me) fish when we were bidding on plants. My club members and I had a long standing agreement that if we EVER discussed the price of plants in our spouses presence, we would DROP the last digit of the price. So (in code) if we said, "I can't believe you bid $12 on that plant, we knew it really meant $120! We did it for them, because we didn't want to accidentally send someone into cardiac arrest! LOL

I have what I call the "happy hubby plan" - part check, part cash, part charge!!! Or I just ask him for plant money for Christmas, etc. and then he has no clue what I spend on an individual plant unless he does something that might hurt said plant (like step on it!) and I go ballistic on him because I now how much it cost!

My husband has never said I can't buy a daylily, of course he is not aware how much some of them cost and I don't volunteer the information. Shhhhhh! He has his things he likes to purchase and he knows my love of gardening is my thing. Plus he enjoys all the color even if he doesn't know the plants name and he built all the garden arbors and pergola, so he does his part.

Julie, that is too funny! I love it.

I use money orders to disguise plant purchases when I don't want DH to know. He never questions what I spend "walking around" money on.

@daylilydreams, my DW has never stopped me from buying a daylily, and she has a few of her own. Flowers are not her thing really, but she does enjoy a well manicured lawn and garden areas. Her words to me when we moved into our new home "I want a park in the back yard to walk in". You should have seen the light in my eyes when she said that. However, you should have seen the look on her face when I ask her for the checkbook.

I am sure I'll be adding a few more before summer, but for now I have to start removing more sod...

Stan make sure to post pictures of you current and new flower beds. Mine are full so when something new come in something old leaves which keeps them interesting.

Ladies in my case it is reversed. DW does all the banking and the money stuff. Money orders are one of my favorite go around.
PayPal is another. She doesn't pay much attention to what's being bought on the card because it is primarily used for online and phone shopping.
@Floota I got a good laugh also on the speaking in code. DW would flip if I spent that much on a daylily.

I'll never forget the time I wanted a new, very expensive Lambertson. DH veto'd the purchase until he really offended me about something and then he said "You know the DL you wanted? Go ahead and get it". The doghouse RULES!
