Remember this one? See my post P2 of this tread, Feb 14th, 2012.
This plant had two divisions with common basil and multiple offsets each. Three offsets were taken from each division (division A and division B). I planted 3 offsets of division A in different location and my daughter planted all the rest of both divisions at her place in Nov of 2011.
So here my 3 are today. It looks like it might be up to it's same old family trait of perpetual bloom fasciating and offsetting. They didn't do anything last year because I damaged them during Spring cleanup and the rabbits got to them before I got the fence back up. And what I and the rabbits didn't damage, the hot dry weather did, so nothing from last year. Here's today: Note multiple offsets coming. Do I see that cauliflower bud head forming (I think so). I'll keep watching.
Well Moby, I got no time nor love for a fasciating freak, so two years ago when I was culling, it had to go. That's when I discovered this underground phenominon of it's rapid offseting at the basil--almost like underground offset fasciation as well as above ground flower fasciation. It was then I thought this would be worth further study. Shortly after joining this forum, I posted this example. Rick was interested in it as well, so we're kinda watching to see what happens with the offsets. The mother plant had a history of fasciating annually.
Other than for it's experimental value, that plant is a cull--or a gift to the curious who might appreciate such a thing.

If anybody would like to grow any seeds from 'Temma'[or others similar][Gratus]-please send me an email, with your address..I have quite a few excess seed-[Fiesta/Davidii]Hybrids........some of these blooms are nearly 'holographic'.. I wish they would stick around until the flower show,[but not to be] -Anthony
As an occasional mutation, what is wrong with fasciation? I think it would make a great bouquet! Of course, I am fascinated with freaks in general!

Granddaughter spotted this in her Crimson Pixes. I promised her I'd post it so she can read about it after summer school today. It's under a peach tree she planted from seed when she was real tiny.
