Thanks, everyone. I think I have posted everything I have in bloom . The Brassavolas are all blooming and some of the Catts as well. Other Catts are in spike so I'll be posting one at a time. The weather is just fantastic with no hint of cold. Life is good here in Odessa.

It is definitely Cattleya season here!

Bc Princess Teresa 'Princess Michiko' is putting on a nice show, it has a lovely scent too.

Just back from watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie. A bit fictitious but entertaining.

Beautiful show, Ursula. I especially like the colors of Bc Princess Teresa.

Thank you, Ursula, and Merry Christmas to you and Klaus as well. My Angraecum is in bud as well so we should have fun in January.

I know of no better way to wish all of my orchid buddies a Merry Christmas than to post some of my holiday bloomers. I spent a restful morning strolling through the greenhouse and garden, camera in hand, and will post the orchid pics here. Some of these you may have seen before but the pictures are new and we need to pump some life into this thread in celebration of the season. I have a big part in the music program for tonight's midnight Mass so I am planning to take it easy today (read nap here). Merry Christmas everyone and enjoy the photos.

Well, it is 75 degrees out there, on its way to 80 again, but I wanted some heat backup in the greenhouse just in case. I found thie little electric fireplace/stove which heats up to 400 square feet. It just might come in handy and I can move it around to use in the sitting area for that glass of port on a cool night.

Those that didn't quite make the Christmas eve post are now open. This is my first bloom of Schomburgkia Louise Fuchs 'Weesie' AM/AOS. Yes, I know about the "no more Schomburgkia" decree and that it is now a Myc. but it looks and acts like a Schomburgkia and so it is in Odessa. Anyway, I love it.

A note about the plant picture: It is mounted on a big slab of ceder and you can follow the 4 foot spike up to the flowers in the far upper left corner of the pic. It went right past the Chia Lin.

Yet another huge floofer, this is Lc. Orglades Grace:

Interesting, Ursula. I just went out and checked the tag and it does say Orglades Grace clearly. That doesn't make it so, as we all know. Let me investigate further.

Carol, tis indeed the season of floof in Odessa. My orchids seem to finally be adapting to the greenhouse environment.
