Tee, I have a small one called Golden lotus banana. I wanted a bigger, more hardy variety. I got the (Musa basjoo). I've been reading about them for a while and I really think I will like it. Hard to beat this for a tropical look too. I saw your picture in the DB, do you still have it? How many do you have? Looks like a dozen!

virginiarose said:I saw the most beautiful red iris on the internet .They are called 'Ann Chowning'. I Googled it and found that Eldon Tropicals had these so I order two. These irises came yesterday!! They are so healthy and I loved the care that was put into packing these.

Thanks, Susan, Polly and spring. That clump of Musa basjoo (banana) is probably about 7 or 8 years old. That's the way they sucker. They are big clumpers. I planted a new one two or three years ago and am already getting a nice clump with several offshoots and good height. Lovey dubby Once there is a hard freeze, they are not difficult to cut back to the ground.

Green Grin! Thanks Tee, I am sure I will enjoy this tree and also the Raspberry Bush they are both very hardy.

Marilyn, we are just now getting some cold weather. The ground is not frozen but too cold for me to get out into the yard. I just potted them up and I sat them outside.

The Raspberry Bush had no pictures or data but here is the name. Everbearing Red Raspberry (Rubus idaeus 'Caroline') I added some data I got from the internet and vendor.

Thumbs up I got an order of 10 triple fan daylilies last month from Blueridge. He dug them up after the snow melted. I was still having good weather so I said sure, send them! I potted them up and sat them out on my little patio and they are actually huge now, in just one month. Most of them are evergreen. Green Grin!

I usually order from Bluestone from their monthly specials. They all come together with one shipping charge when the time is right. My greatest discovery last year was Santa Rosa Gardens.

Their plants are packed unbelievable well and are a very good size. I placed one order at regular price and then checked periodically for their sales. Bought 10 Echinacea at 50 % off, bought their Special Combination package and then continued to buy all kinds of good stuff! A short time ago they had an earlybird with 35% off. They are definitely worth ordering from

Bluestone had a half priced sale in mid May .I havnt ordered from them in awhile but it was a great deal.Their plants and shipping was getting pretty bad while they were transitioning to the coir pots.I throw the pots away. They arent worth a plant drying out no matter how much you water.

I guess thats why I havnt ordered from BS.Santa Rosa does have great plants and shipping is superb.Their half price sale is good too.

I love Bluestone! But I was very sad when they went to coir pots. I hate those things. If I am not going to plant them right away I pot them up in regular pots. Even when I plant right away I take off the coir pot. I still love their service and selection, but I confess I never buy anything full price. I either order during the clearance or I drive there and shop.

There has been a lot said about Bluestone coir pots. Everyone seems to take the plant out unless its really well rooted and roots would be damaged.
It is still better than the 3 paks when you only want 1 plant and the peanuts drove everyone crazy.

I loved the 3 packs. I always had people to share and trade with. My mom and I would reuse the packs for growing from seeds.

Yeah, I can understand the peanuts. But I was lucky I could just take them to work and give them to our shipping dept.

At this point I always throw the pot away, it is good that they are helping the environment. I hear that there are millions of those flower pots in landfills across america. Whatever they can do to cut down on the amount of plastic pots is good.
I usually leave stuff in my shopping cart till there is a sale. Green Grin!

Wow, you can drive there? Where are they? Tell them I said Hello!. *Blush* never-mind, i'm just a number. Whistling
