Lynn, bought some semp seeds last spring so I have seen them up close. Then I proceeded to lose the package of seeds before I planted them. Hoping they turn up one of these days!

Twit, you are the one that suggested I use a tripod, when I was complaining about my hands shaking so bad. : )

Chris, if they show up take a photo of them. I have a packet somewhere also that I can't find. I had two packets, I planted the one with tender succulent seeds and got 3 plants from it.

Here's a picture of a Jovibarba heuffelii 'Xanthoheuff' flower cluster. Most of the heuffelii I've seen flower tend to do a (spherical) flower cluster at the end of the flower stalk, while sempervivum will often set flowers all along the flower stalk. Don't know if this is because of conditions or is due to the type of plant, but worth paying attention to.



BTW, I can't recall ever seeing my S. 'Oddity' flowering. Does anybody know if this variety can/does flower? If so, it would be interesting to collect seed to see what results and , if so, consider the possibilities with cross-pollinating with various other semps!

Interesting observation on the cluster. I went back through the few heuff. bloom photos I have and they all are in a cluster like yours. What's interesting is what happens once they mature into seeds.
