Seems like this thread is veering into "what's wrong with my health". C'mon everyone! What did you do today that was NOT gardening?

I stacked dished to get ready to wash them (I'm bad about dishes *Blush* ) and am cleaning the house to get ready for the HVAC technician on Monday.

Still have to clear the area around the outside HVAC unit but that is sort of like gardening and it involves weedwhacking. Rolling on the floor laughing

For anyone who is turning 65, or is beginning to collect Social Security, there is something they will NOT tell you and it will cost you money for the rest of your life. Even if you do not sign up with a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan, you MUST...repeat must, sign up for Part D. Reading the literature, they make it look like it is an option. I have to pay over $4 a month...for the rest of my life, just because I did not understand the wording. You have been warned. Please learn from my mistake. Thumbs up

Okay, back to not gardening...

If I ever get a letter asking me if I prefer burial or cremation, I'm going to write, "SURPRISE ME!" across the letter and mail it back. Imagine being the mail person who reads that. LOL. And on my tombstone I'd like my name of course but for the date of death, "croaked". Born on whatever, then croaked and the date. Just to lighten the mood of anyone who happens to see it. As for not gardening, I cooked and cleaned for an elderly friend. The facility she's in doesn't do their best and never go the extra mile. When I met her she hadn't had a candy bar or a good old American hamburger since she moved there three years ago. Just institution food.
The first time she tasted a Milky Way I cried. I so enjoyed turning her brother in for neglect and other issues. I take her snacks and tidy up and do her manicures. And keep an eagle eye on things. Her brother despises me. Good, it's a compliment!

I did no gardening today. But I did meander around and admire all of Neverdone's work he did the last few days. And, he made a delicious sauce today, and transformed it into a mile high baked ziti for supper. The likes of which I do not deserve. But boy was it ridiculously delicious. While he was in the house, I did a little walkaround.
The Fernleaf Lavender were peeking out today.

Popped over to say hello to the Marmalades. I love these guys, and Neverdone swears they grow in concrete.

@Saltflower, your friend is so lucky to have you watching out and caring about her. Those places can be very grim if someone is left alone on their own. You're making her life worth living.

I agree

It's really a shame how many people in nursing homes have no one that comes to visit them. Even those that do have family that could do so. Sad

I agree, Sandy. When we have had family in those places, we usually ended up visiting all of the ones who never had any visitors. They were really appreciative.

As far as non gardening, today I made a really great chili in the crock pot. A sort of non gardening thing I did was clean the garage so we could get the truck put back in for the winter. It was gardening related things that I had to clean up, thou. I am so please with what I got done. The truck looks so nice parked on its side of the garage. Now to get the cars area ready for it to come in when the "S___" flies.

I did get a few gardening things done outside. It was a beautiful, sunny day but a little cool with the wind blowing.

LOL, Jeanne -- I had to do the exact same thing last week, clean up gardening-related stuff so we could get both vehicles in the garage! After I got the garden stuff cleaned out, DH swept the floor and moved the 4Runner into it's allocated space. Then I came tromping through after being out in the wet garden and left clumps of dirt all over the place from my garden shoes Rolling my eyes.

Oops!

I have an appointment with spring!
Non gardening activity today. Hmmm....
Wind gusts of 45mph, I listened to the walls shake.
Did knee stretching exercises every hour in between lying in bed and reading and watching TV. This new knee replacement needs regular workouts.
Scrolled thru real estate listings in North Carolina for hours, on Zillow.
Someday, when full SS benefits start, we will leave these New York taxes behind, and head for a place where I can garden full time !!! I love the Hudson Valley, but too pricey for full time retirement.

I looked outside and I did NOT trim those bushes again. I went to my granddaughters voice and piano recital Hilarious! Hilarious!

And I'm just 65 and take 5000iu of vitamin D each day. It helps.

Thank YOU for being an angel on earth. Smiling Everyone down here in FL calls the orange flower Marmalades, but they are called Crossandra Orange Marmalade or Crossandra Tropic Flame. Practically kill proof. Deep green glossy foilage, partial sun, and water now and again.

That is the only thing about not having mail delivery that I truly like. I leave the junk mail in the trash at the PO. I'd rather let them haul it to the dump than me ... Whistling

My non-gardening plans today are taking a friend to her Dr. appointment in a town that is 1 hour away. We are taking a friend with us and are treating her to lunch for her birthday which is tomorrow. It will be a good day with friends.

I have to make a Chiropractor appointment for tomorrow cause my back has been killing me. We went shopping on Saturday and after a while, I could hardly stand walking cause my lower back was hurting so bad. Wish I was going today but tomorrow should be good. I just hope we don't do too much walking today.
