Still NOT working in the garden. Came back from BestBuy and whew, the day turned out beautiful. It would have been a good day to garden if I had only waited a few hours.

I will miss that laundromat. Every time I went, I would clean the door gaskets on the dryers. No, I am not a neat freak...little-known fact: there is often money and other things stuck in the gaskets. I made as much as $3.10 some days.

Daughter's washer is not worth fixing. It's older than dirt.

No gardening for me today either. I had to oversee a tree cutting and brush removal at my mom's house. Took all morning and I had to get up at 6:30am Grumbling I am not a morning person. Hilarious! But I had a good visit with my mom. Smiling

Hi all. I usually hang out in the vegetable gardening threads but this looks nice. Today I cleaned my pet rabbits' pens, paid bills, did laundry, and found first a nickel and then a dime when I went grocery shopping. Why is it that even finding a bit of money is such fun?

Saltflower — Many moons ago when I was a freshman in college I was walking down the alley behind my dorm. You know how sometimes you see something out of the corner of your eye? Well, I saw something fly by and I just reached up (had better reflexes then) and it landed in my hand. When I looked to see what it was — bingo! A $20 bill.

Granted, that was a bit of luck. For all I knew it was just a piece of litter flying by. Even if it had been a $1 bill I would have been excited. As you said, it's a puzzle. 'Why is it that even finding a bit of money is such fun?' I don't know. Maybe it's the sheer surprise of finding something, even if it's a penny.

I still like to find change even though it doesn't go far these days. Rarely do I find a dollar bill much less anything worth more.

Gosh when I was a child and found some change it was so exciting. I had money!! Free money and it actually bought some candy in those days.

I put on a pair of jeans I hadn't worn in 2 years several weeks ago - couldn't figure out what was in the back pocket and pulled out a $20 Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! I may have to go through more old jeans pockets!! And it had even been through the wash and didn't come out.

Welcome! @Saltflower and @RpR. Thumbs up
This thread is just something to give us something to do while we wait for spring to arrive. Have fun with it. Thumbs up

As for finding things in the dryers at the laundromat...you have to stick your fingers (carefully) in the gaskets to find the money and other good stuff. The other day I found an ID card belonging to a Longshoreman. I was sure he would want it back, so I contacted the local International Longshoremen's Association so they could get the man his card back. Okay, I was secretly hoping to find a diamond ring. but... Sighing! ...doing a good deed is almost as good, right. Thumbs up

What am I NOT doing in my garden today?
I am working (via text messages) with my DD to arrange for the HVAC people to come and install a new programmable thermostat, check and clean the HVAC system and the ductwork, and hopefully, cross_finger: we will have heat in the house for the Thanksgiving holiday when the aforementioned DD will visit. Have no clue what we will be eating for Thanksgiving dinner as I have no proper kitchen in which to cook...but, hey, there is always Chinese food! Hurray!

Since the washing machine died Sad I have to make daily trips to the laundromat to get all the bedding and clothes clean before DD arrives. Two more trips should do it. (I would much prefer to be shopping at Home Depot than sitting in a laundromat anyday!)

Is it Spring yet????

Many years ago, before I was married, by boyfriend and I were going through some old junk in the dresser drawers. He had a stack of cards he had received over the years, and yes, we found tons of money in those old cards! I love 'found' money!!

Ah the laundromat; the smell of laundry soap and dry clothes.
Now you made me nostalgic and I am going to have to go to one just for old times sake.
I always found them relaxing, especially if there were some good cooking magazines laying around.
Remember, always let the machine fill with water , before, putting the clothes in.

Today I'm preparing new batches of soil for my succulents that need re-potting. I also went to HD to buy more pre-mixed cactus soil to use as a base and some large containers to store it. Since I work from home I also have to spend some time working. Sticking tongue out

That was then; this is now. It's a whole new world at the laundromat now. We must preload everything, add money (or a card) and push start. After that, all we can do it wait for it to be over.
