We have kind of talked about a data base of lilies. But my understanding is it would have to be built on Cubits with a link from here to it.

Yeah, I'm still trying to see the point of All Things Plants, if it doesn't have all those nifty options that cubits has...
But I really shouldn't say anything, 'cause I've hardly even peaked at the Site Talk forum. I am really ignorant at this point.

Leftwood, the problem I was having at Cubits was that there was no centralized location to talk about a particular kind of plant. Sure, there was an Iris Cubit, but there were also conversations about irises going on in other cubits, and it was hard to remember which cubit I saw a particular conversation in. Same for other types of plants. ATP localizes all information and conversations about a particular type of plant together. You wouldn't believe how many different food and cooking cubits there were, with widely divergent levels of activity. I never felt "at home" at Cubits, the way I did at DG, and am beginning to feel at ATP. It just felt. . .scattered. My mom dropped her DG membership entirely, but couldn't ever figure out how to get around at Cubits, so just kind of drifted off and lost touch with her gardening friends. I am hoping she'll get involved with ATP, and feel more comfortable with the more familiar organizational style.

Building a database on the Lilies Cubit would be easy.
Since the Lilies Cubit threads have all been moved over here, the database will follow when Dave sets that up some time in the Fall.
I made the database for both the Rose and Clematis Forum very visible right at the top of the of the threads,

We love Databases! at least I do. The Iris database is fantastic. Short, sweet and to the point. Best of all it's dependable.

Thanks Evan. That's the whole reason I would like to build a database over on Cubits for lilies. The dependability like we have on irises. I think it's going to be a winter project. Dave left the Lilies Cubit open so we could do that.

Utter newbie to Lilies. Any recommendations (3-4'H) for planting among Japanese and Louisiana Iris (wet) ? With Euphorbia (dry)?

Angie, your point about the scattering of the same type of subject on Cubits is a very valid and logical one. I must agree that ATP is good solution, and that it is better to have it now without all the accoutrements, rather than waiting until later with them.
