I read your blog about your dear old doggie and I was in tears all the way through! It tugged at my heart the whole time. What a sweet and lovable doggie! I'm still teary eyed. Pets sure have a hold of our hearts. DH and I have two lovable bunnies who are healthy and are 10 years old now and the whole time they rule the heart and house. Can't think of ever being without them. My heart goes out to you. Group hug Group hug Group hug Group hug

Bunnies live to be TEN? I had no idea!

Appreciate the hugs, and the warm wishes... I'm thinking Zoe was about 112 in ppl years -- not bad at all. And I got her golden years, which to me are the best ones. Lovey dubby

Mary,

Our vet said that he's known bunnies to live 10-15 years, if they are spayed and neutered (ours are), and live in the house all the time (ours are). We don't have any children and/or any other pets.

They have each other 24/7 and they are bunny buddies and 'partners in crime'. Green Grin!

Before we got the bunnies in Feb. 2002, we had read that having more than one bunny was beneficial to the bunny, so we got two and they are about 5 weeks apart in age.

We asked him if bunnies are like dogs in age to people and he said they weren't (you know 1 dog year to 7 ppl years).

They are blessings from above and two bundles of joy and love! Lovey dubby

Since July 19, 2006, they've been out of the cage 24/7 and get to roam around the living room (great room), kitchen and hallway. They're spoiled rotten, pampered and 'catered to' every day we've had them! Lovey dubby

Zoe sounded wonderful to know, love and be around! Lovey dubby Group hug

She still tugs at my heart (from reading your blog about her). Lovey dubby Group hug

She'll always be in your heart and thoughts! Group hug

I hate that...to watch a cherished pet struggle and know it is suffering, and you just don't know when it's the time you have to let go!

Thanks... Group hug

my challenge was to make sure I was choosign to let go because it was best for her, and not just because her debility would be inconvenient for me. I've always been a big believer in "better a day too early than a day too late." She *could* have recovered from what she was dealing with, but it would have taken weeks and she would have been miserable the whole time. I couldn't bear watching her decline any further, and there's no way I would ever make one of my dogs live in conditions I'm not willing to live in.

I have a good doc -- she would have supported my decision either way, and never tries to sway my opinion, but when it was all done, she said "you made the right choice." It's weird not having her here, though.

Mary, I agree with the Doc that you did the right thing. It's so hard sometimes to let them go. I've seen it happen where the pet is really suffering but the owners can't bear to have them euthanized .... to me it's the humane thing to do. They love us unconditionally and look to us to make the decision to allow them to pass without suffering. It always breaks our heart to have to let them go, but let them go we must .... it's all part of life. My only pet right now is a 17 year old kitty who seems to be doing pretty well for a feline whose kidney's began shutting down two years ago. I am very watchful of her on a daily basis though because I won't allow her to suffer.

I'm so glad you have your other canine buddies to help you through the grieving process. And, just know that your friends here at ATP care and that our hearts go out to you.

I just saw the thing about the "middle click." There's something else it does. If you middle click where there is no link, it stays on "scroll" without having to hold it down. As you move your mouse up and down the page, the scroll becomes faster or slower.

Then to stop the option, just left click.

Thanks, Lin. Doc & I have an agreement - she says it's time, I say ok. I have friends who wait longer than is good for the dog, and I don't want to be that kind of person.

Yow! That's not what it did on MY computer! Maybe it's because I have Wiindows Live Mail open, too? I just got a little rectangle in the middle of the screen that showed the Windows Live Mail windows, the Firefox window and the external monitor I have hooked up to my laptop. It disabled my keyboard for a minute, too. Eeek!

Nap, I do things mostly on automatic and for the life of me I couldn't remember what the middle click did. Of course I have no real middle click but I do have a little bumpy thing in the front middle of the mouse so I clicked. Superimposed over my existing screen I now have a d/m/y calendar, a thermometer, a calculator, and a clock. It goes away when I take my finger away from the little bumpy thing.

I really do wish it would let me scroll fast, but iMacs don't seem to have a go fast button, except for searching.

I do love the choices we now have with tabs and pages here.
