Hi Marilyn...doing OK, but VERY frustrated today My DL is due for renewal in May and the STUPID state of Florida requires a paper trail of name changes. Don't have my marriage license from marriage #1...gonna cost me over $50.00 to get a certified copy from New York Bunch of BS in my opinion. Oh well

All the states are getting like that since 9/11. It's one thing to have to do it once but I got mine renewed & had to provide the paper trail. 8 months later we moved & in order to change address on it they require me to prove everything all over again! EVERY SINGLE TIME. That sucks!

When I applied for Social Security this year, they asked me for a little basic info on my marriage with my ex, which surprised me. And since I'll be going on DH's SS record (higher amount that way) we had to do an extra paper that included info on his previous marriage also. But they didn't ask for any proofs, other than our own marriage certificate. We didn't have a birthdate on his ex and he had to guess just to give any age on her. We had all the other info we had to put down. Hmm, I haven't actually lived in any other state. I'd hate to have to look for the marriage license with my ex...don't know if I have that!

I think they're trying to control it all through driver licenses & state ID's if you don't drive.

First few times on DG I had no idea either as to what they were talking about with the DH, DW... etc..

Took me a little awhile on DG (Dave's Garden) to figure out all the DH, DW, DD, DS, etc...

And THEN, years later, I pondered over IMHO for WEEKS, asked my friends, and finally had to ask the person who typed it.....

I just had to Google LTNT that a friend wrote. Long time no talk.

I figured out most of those myself. But LTNT...now, that I never would have guessed! So cold & windy today...the birds were just all over the feeders!

Going to town tomorrow and plan to go by the DL place...I have the divorce decree from #1 which hopefully will be good enough. Like DUH...in order to get divorced we had to be married We shall see
