It looks great to me. When I click to enlarge I get a big, bright, clear image.

I'm using Firefox 10.0.2

Everything looks fine for me now, too (with Chrome); and it once again says "propose photo for plant database" instead of the confusing symbol. Poor Dave! Blinking

I put it back to the way it was on my post #216332.

After that post, everyone said it was perfect.

Yes it works, thanks Dave!

If anyone is having trouble getting the bigger photo again, it does work if you do as Dave said, shift refresh. Just using your page refresh doesn't work. You have to use your 'shift' or capitals key along with F11 at the same time.

I'm now seeing 11" x 8 1/4"

I just realised I have lost my tool bar and browser bar by doing shift refresh!

Hmm, I did shift refresh again to return my tool bar and I now have a smaller picture again.

Hilarious! Sounds like you'd better quit while you're ahead Janet!

Janet, F11 maximizes your screen, taking away your scroll bar.

Try shift/refresh using Control or Shift key plus your F5 key.

Yes Karen, I think I had best quit! Hilarious!

Thanks Shoe, yes I realised that after I had done it, but it did make the photo much bigger! Rolling on the floor laughing I don't want to have to do it every time I want to view a bigger photo.

I tried your suggestion, it doesn't work for me, still the smaller size. Sad

Dave,
DB images display as before. The added detail of the larger images is nicer. Will this change to the smaller image size of the forum images?
I proposed an image from a forum to the DB (identical image) and the image displayed in the DB at it's original size, i.e. larger than forum image. When this is settled please recommend an appropriate image size.
Images with significantly greater height than width display with ht. constrained to monitor size and are now sometimes quite small.
Iris encyclopedia page exhibiting strange image behavior. Scroll over images in articles. Irises (Iris) Images placed within articles display smaller than initially intended.

It's still not working for me in the larger size when we thought it was perfect. I tried shift F5. Won't it serve as a shift refresh if I just shut down my laptop & start it up again? I normally take a break this time of day anyway & shut it down.

Evan, in your iris link, I had an odd thing happen. I enlarged both the seed and rhizome images that were at first displayed side by side and now only the seed image shows and that rhizome image only shows when I do a mouse over of the seed image. Blinking
I opened it twice, same thing happened each time.

Dave, it works now giving a large photo! It doesn't have a grey background, and it does go a little above or below the top and bottom but the photo is scrollable. I'm happy with that, it should give those with smaller monitors a bigger photo. Thumbs up

The enlargements are now quite large for me, but I can't simply click anywhere to close the photo. I have to press escape.

Shift-refresh to get the latest code.

The resize has been completely removed and I will not put it back in. It is vastly more trouble than it's worth.

You can close it with Escape, or click -outside- the image. Meaning, click on the darker outside area to close.

Yes, that works Dave, and we still have a large photo! I clicked on the outside of the photo, that is on the page itself and the photo closed but it wasn't dark.

I haven't seen anyone whining or complaining, including me, so Dave I guess the latest lightbox fix must be ok, at least so far. Rolling on the floor laughing
