I hate waking everyone up but this is worth it. Here is my Dendrobium nobile hybrid in full bloom. If you think the picture is amazing, you should see it in person.

Yep, you woke me up too! Nice one Jim!

Sorry I've been so quiet...I'm in the start of the '100 days of Hell'
which is really closer to the '130 days of Hell'....this is the insanely
crazy time at our Lowe's stores with massive trucks of trees, shrubs
and annuals arriving for me to put out on the tables. I come home
and collapse at the end of the day!

I realized today that it is probably not a great idea to place two seedlings of the same population into the same pot.
Blc Liese Pigors x Lc Drumbeat was several times close to the garbage pile, although it blooms regularly and is nicely scented. I am just not that fond of the texture of the blooms. But I was surprised today to see another spike open up and the lip is shaded differently. This one may be growing on me....

Ursula, Is it common practice to register seedlings of the same cross, even though they can be variable? I got my Pot.' Camerons' Magnetism' from Oak Hills, and it didn't quite fit their description, or picture. When I looked it up on the net, I found pics that weren't even close. It seems to me that it would be a second generation to stabilize before registering, and then stick with divisions, or tissue culture to get clones.

Sunny side Eggs? I like that. I looked at the blooms yesterday in the sun, so pretty. Imagine little sparkles!

Carol, yes. If you create a hybrid, you can assign different 'Clonal' names to the hybrid name, looking at the different babies in that same group in bloom. ( or later on, if you like a particular Orchid in bloom) Now if you look at your Potinara Cameron's Magnetism
http://apps.rhs.org.uk/horticu...
You will notice that you have simply the hybrid name, no clonal name was given. There are no '...'/single quotation marks in Potinara Cameron's Magnetism. So if you look up pictures of your bloom, you can have very different blooms, just like siblings in any family.
