*Blush* thanks, it's a little fancier feeling than my usual stovetop zucchini. And I don't really know what else to do with one small eggplant at a time
Plant it and they will come.

Sally, I don't cook much so I've never heard of dipping spices. I Googled. So it's a little pre-filled grinder for grinding spices into olive oil and then dipping bread. That sounds good-I might try it.

I cut up a batch of mixed peppers for frying. Which means whatever I had picked. So I had various bell peppers, some Corbaci peppers, some sweet cayenne, some Shishito, some snacking lunchbox peppers. And I am sure I have forgetting something that was in the mix.

Just fried them up on some olive oil and man are they so good!! A blend of all sorts of flavors. Each bite gets something different.

Lots of choices in mid summer. Corn on the cobb with a side of southern peas, tomatoes and okra or pan fried eggplant with succotash ( butterbeans, tomatoes and corn). In between meals when I get hot and dry, I grab a cold slice of watermelon. Maybe some jalapeno poppers to spice things up. Have plenty of frying peppers but those are used when I feel the need for hamburger or sirloin tips.

Hot it is but I'm home so I'm cooking. Sliced new potatoes with onions, sautéed in olive oil and herbs with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. All from the garden except the olive oil. Savoring the season! Hurray!

I told my daughter about the shishito peppers, Rita. She finally found some at her local grocery. She grilled them up and loved them, but said the larger they were the hotter they were. Have you picked all of yours very small?

We had our regular family Sunday dinner yesterday which was grilled hamburgers this time. A big plate of slice tomatoes disappeared on the burgers....Kellogg's Breakfast, Black Krim, and Purple Brandywine. Also picked a large bowl of Sun Sugar and Sweet 100. Also a large bowl of Beef Master, Big Boy, Better Boy, Jet Star, Celebrity, and others that will become salsa in a couple of day when the mangoes ripen. My son-in-law makes the salsa. The work this spring has it's rewards. Going to a local farm stand for corn on the cob..........

No, I pick them when they are near grown. But hardly ever any heat. I am wondering about the heat as there rarely should be much.

We had the last few ears of corn on the cob tonight and sloppy joes made with green and red peppers with red and green cabbage coleslaw with a side of our first ever snap beans steamed and cooked in butter and lemon. Put by some broccoli and snacking on those sweet million tomatoes! Picked Quinault strawberries for cereal tomorrow. Amazed at the way those are so ever bearing!

Rita, her Shishito peppers were all bagged up in a bag, but I'm wondering if maybe a few other types got mixed in? She said a few of the larger ones were quite hot, and she likes hot peppers.

I had bought seeds of the Shishito pepper from Kitizawa and planted about 15. Only one germinated for me and was growing well in the greenhouse. I decided I'd put it outdoors so it might grow faster. Some critter ate the whole lone plant last night. Sighing!

@intheswamp- I didn't grow the cow...the bones I planted just won't germinate! But the coke looks promising. I planted a few bottles and they need to reach maturity to get their fizz before I harvest. Hope this helps.

Probably just a simple adjustment of pH or a change of fertilizer will get those ol' cow bones up and growing 'fore you know it!!!!!!!! Hilarious!

Sometimes you get a hot one but it is very rare. A bag should not have hot ones.

Don't know why you didn't get more seeds to germinate. They are not hard peppers to start up as far as peppers go. Don't give up!!!

Yum yum yum
Just got back from a few days away and picked eggplant, okra, last zucchini off the dying bug infested plants, lots of tomatillos, and a few tomatoes but they're going into at least a lull. But I work this evening so probably just making salsa with some tomatoes.
Plant it and they will come.

Sally, if I skip a day picking Colorado Potato Beetles off of my tortured eggplants I'd have eggplant skeletons standing in the garden...I pick at least a half-dozen of them off of six plants every day!!! The eggplants are like magnets and the beetles are like iron filings!!!! I'm not sure they're going to make any eggplants or not...there's one fruit growing and it looks rather anemic. Those CPB are terrible critters!!! Angry
