I had never liked store bought blueberries but I am crazy for the ones I grow right in my own garden. There is nothing like eating those blueberries right off the shrub. Yummy! I have blackberries here also and I go out and just eat those up also. Most blackberries are the trailing kinds and oh so thorny. But the best to get are the newer thornless erect growing blackberries. I have APACHE and ARRAPAHO. There are others in this series.

You can get pie cherries in small dwarf trees noadays and those are easy to grow. You can get sweet cherry too but those have to be sprayed and I can't be bothered., Used to grow grapes but again they need to be sprayed to get good fruit so I no longer have them. Then there are dwarf peach and apple trees if you want to get into that. I just buy mine in the store.

I ordered a Drawf Cherry tree-Carmine Jewel that is real hardy and supposed to be a good pie cherry. Also some Fort Laramie Strawberries. I am debating on getting a shrub that is related to honeysuckles with blue berries-sounds good but I have no idea what they would taste like. Also there is a Goji Berry that sounds interesting. Have you or any of the others tried them??

I am growing Goji Berry now but mine are not quite large enough to be bearing yet. Gojis can be quite aggressive here, but I don't image they are so much that way in your zone. Don't know though. I'm anxious to have my first crop. Goji berries are very good, IMHO. Thumbs up
I garden for the pollinators.

Stephanie, If your thinking of Honeyberries in Raintree Catalog, I tried them and hated them. Fruited very poorly, small bland tasting fruit. You are better off with more Blueberries. One can never have too many blueberries.

So looking at the daylily plateau in the back, it has six (I think) empty spots as aftter I moved out daylilies last summer I thought I would order new over the winter for spring. But I didn't order anything. A shocking thing that is as I usually order lots. Anyway I don't want to order but I do want to fix those empty spots. So I decided I need to move five daylilies that are off by themselves in another area of the garden into the plateau. That will get rid of most of the problem. Then I can figgure out what to do there where those daylilies move out of later. Honestly I know I said I have no daylilies to move this year and if I have bought for those spots I would leave it all as is. But you all know me by now. I constantly do things that I think will make the garden even better.

I can't start moving them now as they are wet because I used the systemic insect killer on most of the daylilies because they have aphids. So no touching for now.

Rita Honeyberries is what I was thinking of. Glad I hesitated ordering them as I don't want a bland berry. Might as well have nothing.

And speaking of you DL maybe I could send you some since you have not ordered any. I always get lots of extras a bonus plants. Lets keep in touch on this..

Stephanie, I just didn't deel like ordering any daylilies this year. Don't know why not. But I have 6 empty spots and tomorrow I will move those 4 daylilies (I counted there are only four) and then it will be almost full. I know eventually I will order something so not to worry!

I bought them at Raintree. It is actually in the Russian Olive Family. They make tons and tons of the most sour berries you can imagine. But the backyard songbirds just love those berries.

Ha, well, I am right to call it the crazies. Hilarious!

I have gotten many plant crazies here in my garden and it usually means I concentrate on something for the year, or more than one year.

Stephanie and Margaret, you guys are making me laugh for your rhymes. Rolling on the floor laughing
