I agree.
I started to dig around the page, interesting poems and illustrations. I wasn't familiar with his Fleurs du mal.
Thanks!

So many neat ones and so many different forms and colors. What type is the white one in the basket. Whites ones are my favorite.

Janice,
so what do you think it is? I am curious?

If you were to google it, you would see immediately that it is Bollopetalum, not Bolopetalum.
Checking the RHS, yes, there is such an animal. ( Bollo from Bollea)
Bollopetalum Midnight Blue
http://apps.rhs.org.uk/horticu...
I don't know if it is 'Cardinal's or 'Cardinals Roost", but image- googling points to the same thing as you posted??

Janice, we cross-posted

I googled both names, Ursula, and they are both there with Cardinal's Roost....both Bollopetalum and Bolopetalum. I just wrote what was imprinted on the label that came with the plant.
Put me before the firing squad!
I am far from obsessed with correct spelling of names at this point in my orchid career. LOL.
I was referring to the fact that the coloration does not look like many of the images brought up when I googled the plant.

Yeh, the trouble with Google is no one knows how to spell there!! And we all mess up anyway. Rolling on the floor laughing
I count on Ursula to set me straight since she always links to the authorities!

Gee Janice, that would have been nice to know! No, a firing squad is not necessary, just an offering to the Orchid gods will suffice. Smiling I figured you had trouble finding it.
I agree, your blooms seem to be lighter in color, but that could have many reasons, over-cloning, growing/budding at different temperatures, and then maybe it IS something else.
Btw "obsessed" wouldn't come to my mind, if one were trying to spell a name correctly at ANY stage? And yes, we all make mistakes.
