Steven, that's a beautiful flower, nice job on getting the plant through the winter! I tip my hat to you.
I found a little treasure just now...seems like I scrutinized each plant with a magnifying
glass this weekend and somehow missed the first spike on my MarbleBranch plant Ctna. Flying Colors 'Mendenhall' HCC/AOS

Oh Oh, my Laelia purpurata v. carnea has buds!!! I opened the sides of the sheath and voila! I have killed 2 of these so I am thrilled! This is the one which is bare root in a basket with the roots starting to grow through.

That is exciting! Thumbs up

Bill, they will bloom. Lots of new growth is always a good thing!
Some of my Orchids took ( take) years to bloom for the first time for me. But once they start blooming, they usually will continue to do so. I think sometimes certain orchids really need to take a long time to adjust to our conditions. As long as the plant looks healthy with good roots and is growing, it will bloom sooner or later, unless the conditions are really off.

And those now 2! plants of Encyclia ( Euchile) citrina, they must be thinking that they look pretty without blooms Glare ( one of them for more years than I can remember, that's why I bought a second plant thinking I have a dud) - I may have to threaten them with a suitable salad dressing. My Winters are surely too warm in the greenhouse. But I will find perhaps a better spot for them.
Carol will most certainly bloom her new plant before mine!

Hilarious! I sure hope you're right Ursula! I did get it mounted yesterday. Wish I had known it's name sooner...I could have gotten a blooming one from Andy's. Whistling

Paph. Susan Booth is getting ready to put on a display. Pretty excited about this one. Hurray! It has been 2 years since its first attempt to bloom and I caused it to blast. Grumbling The buds are emerging very fast for a paph.

This is a huge plant with 18 to 20 inch leaves that lay out horizontal so it takes up 3 feet of bench space. Right now it only has 2 growths and they both face the same direction, so it has height and width and very little depth. There are 2 new growth starts, so not sure how much longer before it overtakes my grow room.

I have ignored my potted Bletilla for years, and it was declining, so I repotted it a month ago. Oops, no sign of growth. Not tossing it yet, but not optomistic.
