I went out and looked at Jupiter's Fortune again, and it is actually darker than this picture, it is almost black, like the eye is on Peacock Candy. I have to edit these pictures to make them look like they do in the garden. Cameras just do not see what we see. But I do have a good editing program I use.

Mona, Big Eyed Butterfly is really that navy blue eye.

Michele, it is in the nineties today, they probably don't have any choice but to open. The low was 72.

Thanks people I'm so happy you like my pictures. I'm trying to show new ones each day, but some just keep on speaking to me to "Take my picture!"

Leslie, You upload the first picture, then the second picture under it, then you place your cursor right in front of the second picture writing URL (whatever its called), and hit the backspace until it is right behind the first picture URL on the same line.

So exciting to see your pictures, Dot! I'm enjoying them very much. It's neat to watch some of them strut their stuff even more, so no worries about repeats.

Yeah!!! I just looked and I have Funky Blues. I really don't think it will bloom this year. Not the best plant.

I got Santa's Little Helper from Maryotts last fall. I love it. It's one that just looks great. The scape is good, the plants are beautiful and the bloom is so rich.

Dot, keep posting Can't Touch This, it's stunning!

Thanks for all the beauty.

Xylophone Jazz, there was controversy about the difference in mine and Michele's pictures of XJ. I took pictures twice and went out and looked and looked at this flower. This is as close to the real colors as I can get. The eye was dark blue with just a hint of red outline. It was 66 this morning and was a very nice day. In hotter weather it may look different.

I'll say!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the coloring in your pic of XJ. I hope mine looks like that! Karen said she thought the difference might have to do with lighting.

Lots of difference in XJ. I really wish I could find a site that explains how temps, fertilizer, water, soil type, and light effect the color of a daylily. Who's the scientist in the group???

I'd be interested in knowing, too. Got a Spacecoast Sea Shells from Maryott's. Opened first time yesterday and has disappointingly pale, unpleasantly pastel coloring, and ill-defined markings. Hoping it improves, but thinking it will go to a new home with my receptionist, who thinks it is lovvvvelllllly just the way it is. Sticking tongue out

The first year I had SC Sea Shells it was awful but the second year it looked great and the way it was supposed to. It is suggested that you should give a daylily a full season in your garden then see what it does the second year. A lot of times they will get better.
