I just hate it when that happens. Ever since I moved my orchids to the bushes, I have picked up tons of plants turned over on the turf. How big is your Grammatophylum plant, Fred? Mine is huge and gets bigger each year.
I'm quite fond of Brassicacatleya 'Mai Kai'.

My pots often fall over on the ground level due to the wind and tarp (on medium stones). I've gotten used to checking each time.
The next to the last pic looks like Mtssa. Shelob 'Tolkien' Fred. You have so much in bloom!
Name: Fred Rump Naples, Fl enjoying what nature has to offer
Mtssa. Shelob 'Tolkien' - a big YES to that. I remember the plant and have it in other pots. This was a division which ate its label. Thanks Kathy.
Jim, my Gramma had three nice flower stems but somebody came along on night and simply cut two of them off at the bottom. I don't know what kind of culprit would do that. I see no varmins under my cage. The plant itself is big and very pot bound as are many of my orchids. ☺ It looks healthy though and I'll just leave it alone.
There are quite a few plants in bud. I thought they took the summer off to bloom later in the fall when it's a bit cooler?
You saw the fall of the orchids, then my landscaper guy knocks on the door to tell me I have smoke and a fire at my fountain. WHAAT? I look and lo and behold the palm next to an electrical box and my auto-refill is burning nicely. I put a hose to the mess. I have no idea how something like that can happen but I see now why houses mysteriously go on fire. So I call the comapny who installed that system a month ago and they will be here to take a look. In the meantime (just had about an hour interuption) I was going to say we are waiting for a plumber to fix our hot water system. Wifee complains that there is not enough hot water for her to finsih a shower after she comes out of the hot spa. Anything to help with the arthritis. Anyway, he just left and all seems well again. Replaced two heating elements. Now back to my sprayer. I got it all assembled but still have to find some oil and a place to put it. I can't imagine that it goes into the bottom of the engine.
Btw I have a Brassavola David Sander. I got a freebie seedling I think in 2004 from Oak Hill and wouldn't you think it should slowly bloom? It has been steadily growing.
Jim, good luck with those panels! It will be a great place.
Name: Carol Santa Ana, ca Sunset zone 22, USDA zone 10 A.
Jim, I knew Laurel wouldn't do that to you! Got my fingers cross for your contractor. Can't wait for the new adventures of Jim's orchid space!
Ursula, I too got a David Sander from Oak Hill. It had 3 dried sheaths when I got it, and hasn't changed a bit. Love the Den. aberrans X. Regarding the Darwinara; from the photos I've seen, that is the closest to a BLUE orchid out there.
Funny, Carol. You know Laurel's penchant for tiny but classy blooms. A 7 foot dendrobium would really be out of character for her.
Ursula, wonderful show and a great way to start my day. Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star' is great and goes on my wish list. Wonderful color combo on Blc Waianae Leopard and I love the bloom on the cym as well.
Now it's off to mow the grass and then to the movies to see the new Harry Potter flick. I'm looking for one of those wands to help with garden chores.
