Yummy. Thumbs up

Rita, are your long beans still producing? My green ones have slacked off a bit, but the red ones are out of control! Hilarious! It's a good thing we really like them.

I have a bunch of little zucchini on my bush plants right now but they're not getting bigger very fast...wonder if they just can't draw enough water??? I'm afraid that once it rains we'll have 10 huge fruits at one time...and like, overnight. Blinking

The Red Yard Longs started producing later for me than did the green but both are still gowing strong. It is slightly cooler here lately so I wonder if that will stop them.

I never grew zucchini so have no advice there.

We had one decent rain after the first fruit set on the zucchini which produced a couple of big fruits, but now I'm tap, tap, tapping my toes waiting for more. I just don't really want them all at once. I'd take half of them off and use them but they're just about two bites worth each right now.

Lots and lots of green-striped cushaw squash coming on as well. I've got their vines somewhat trained...over, up, back down and around...those guys can really move! Big Grin

I started some winter squash really late and wasn't at all sure if they'd make anything or not, but they're getting ready to flower...so, they might.

I had ordered 25 of those triangle type collapseable green coated wire tomato cages from Lowes and they just arrived today. I really am going to be organised for next year. My tomato garden areas have been expanded and I have ordered extra cages. Next spring I will only need to get compost on all the gardens and plant!

I'm jealous. Smiling

I try and do that every year, but always manage to fall behind.
I''m not even going to try this year since I get a hip replacement in a couple of weeks and am not allowed to bend down for quite a while.

Well, I am not always this organised. There are many springs where I am scrambling to get everything done and get the gardens ready for planting.

Lowes had a free shipping promo so I took advantage and ordered those cages. Easier than going to the store and dealing with buying and loading them myself. And totally worth it when there is free shipping.

A while back Home Depot had a free shipping promo deal and I got all the green coated metal fence posts that I needed. I have 7 foot and 6 foot ones both. So I love it when they have the free shipping. I can order items that are more conveniet to have delivered to my door and not pay any extra.

I'm drying yet more tomatoes and cooking up sauce. I was just going to can the tomatoes, but I'm running out of jars and space and didn't want to buy more so I decided to just boil them down to a nice thick sauce and can it.

There are still lots of beans coming in. I found a recipe for a string bean bake that I'm going to try tonight.

I still haven't touched the beets or carrots. Too much other stuff that needs eating right away.

I'm also trying to catch up since I'll be in the hospital for a couple of days starting Monday and won't be much use for quite a while after that.

Tabby, if you like stewed tomatoes, make your own, They turn out great and if you have a crockpot it is even easier. I just froze my stewed tomatoes when done.

Hi Rita,
I love stewed tomatoes and often use my canned tomatoes to make stewed tomatoes in the winter. I love my crockpot! Smiling

Maybe my spouse will make me some next week When I'm useless. More tomatoes will ripen and need picking. He should be able to do that with out much trouble.

These are some of the tomatoes that are cooking right now. They were pretty enough to take a picture of.

And here is one layer of cherry tomatoes that are in the dehydrator. Mostly Sungolds and Sweet 100's. There are four layers total.

Those are North Carolina Heirloom Pickling cucumbers. We eat them like regular cucmbers as well as pickle them. They are so sweet and never get bitter. The grandkids eat them peel and all right out of the garden. I like to peel mine Big Grin

Pictures of two of my granddaughters with a few of my tomatoes.

Blakely with Gold Medal, Evergreen and Believe It or Not. Her favorite was Gold Medal. She goes after the different colored tomatoes in the garden. I guess red is just to normal for her.
