Ok, the pond is now devoid of any fish! I put them up in the greenhouse for now, but I will have to drop off a LOT ( a few hundred) more at the Aquarium store. One thing I find amazing, I started out in the Spring with about 30 adult Paradise Fish. I fished out perhaps only 15 or so of those big ones. I did find once a half eaten one, I wonder if the babies ate them when they died - probably of natural causes/age. The pond had netting over them, a large animal could not have fished them out.

There has been no hint of fall here. Temps are still around 90 degrees and the humidity is very high. We have some rain about every day. Next week is a busy one with activities every day including the orchid club meeting on Tuesday morning. I'm going to be interviewed on AM 680 about the Master Gardener program next Wednesday at 9:30. It is a all news/talk Spanish speaking station. It should be interesting.

I hope you are right about the interview, Ursula, because it just grew into two interviews. I have to be in the studio at 9:00 for the one on Wednesday and now another station will call me for a phone interview on Thursday. All this in Spanish.

I took my Lc Mary Elizabeth Bohn 'Royal Flare' into the greenhouse with a nice spike. This one is starting to look a bit better, it needs absolutely full sun, or the growth will be floppy. It did well in the middle of the cage over the Summer, next to the Vandas. The blooms are prettily scented.

Rumrillara Sugar Baby did lose a couple of fans this Summer due to some Black Rot, but it stabilized and is blooming.

And Bulbo Jersey is at the end of a really nice blooming cycle.

And here is another true beginner Orchid - Potinara Hoku Gem 'Sunspots' opens another spike.

Oo, Mary Elizabeth is a sublime color, and that picotee edge on the lip, exquisite!

Lovely color on Sugar Baby, and may I say Nice Save!!

The bulbo is cute (I still get "sea creature" when I see some of those bulbos) and that Hoku Gem is definitely on my Wish List!

Potinara Hoku Gem 'Sunspots' is not in the database. I did fid it by Googling.

I'm guilty as well as I have posted Sunspots without putting it in the database. In fact I never have time to put my pics in the database. I think Janice may have put some in the database but she is busy now with an upcoming move to Cape Cod. I wish someone would do that little chore.

Ursula, wonderful show. Your Lc. looks a lot like L. purpurata so I'm guessing it is a parent. I have a question on the medium you use for Bulbos. I find they are one of the few orchids that do well in moss. The Bulbo guru here, Bill Thoms, grows his that way and I grow some that way as well. It makes me nervous as I am always on the alert for root rot but in general, they seem to like it.

I just realized that I posted my Bulb. fascinator on another thread so I will repost here. Too many threads for an old guy like me. Shrug!

Oh come on!

Rolling my eyes.

Give yourself a quota of 2-3 pics per day and put 'em in there!

Concentrate on the ones that don't have any pictures in there yet.
