Ursula, Hallo!
I did keep the tag to the plant. But I don't think it helps me too much. I thought that the plant had been given to me with a tag but when I looked for it, it was not to be found. Well, tonight I recalled having put it in the kitchen drawer where my German food scale is kept. There it was and here is what is included there:.

Lila Mystique - Lilac Orchid
With a little bit of magic we turn a white orchid lilac!
New blooms will be gorgeous white!
Grown by Silver Vase Inc. Homestead, FL 33031
(that is all on the tag for the plant)

I looked tonight in the data base as you suggested or maybe it was virginiarose; anyway, I put a search in for White Moth Orchid and the first one that came up look exactly like mine, as best I can tell with my naked eye!

I looked again, and there sure is a spike on the plant and ten blooms that are very nice.
I wish that I had a good camera to be able to take a pic of it and post here so you could see just what it looks like. My DD comes Wednesday and I will ask her to bring her good camera and take a pictur for me. She is very good with a camera for me!

At the moment, I am thinking that it is exactly what you suggested: Phalaenopsis Orchid or White Moth Orchid, like I saw posted in the database here.

Thanks for your help. It is so appreciated. I REALLY enjoy looking at the pictures you all are able to post. It is very enjoyable for a "homebound" person" I can tell you for sure.

Wishing all my new neighbors a wonderful new week! Oma
Smiling
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

Welcome to the forum, Oma!

To fill everyone in here - Oma and her daughter both have a Phalaenopsis injected with dye and there were some questions to as what kind of Orchid we have here and how to get it to bloom again.

Looking forwards to the pictures! It sounds like you are growing it well and a new spike is good news,

Btw I don't know if this also works on a PC - on a Mac you just have to click on the opened Thumbnail to see the next picture fully open. No need to click on the individual pictures.

I promised a picture of the Bc Binosa 'Tetraploid' - I had planted it some years ago into an Ecoweb basket and the roots grow right into the material. If you look closely you can see where the other spike snapped off.

and here is a twofer, Bc Binosa and my Bulbo equinolabium which is also in an Ecoweb basket. Regarding the Bulbo - I was glad to have the fan kicking in....what a stinker!

Thanks for the tip, Ursula! Yes, I am on a PC and clicking on the picture moves to the next shot, as you said! There's also the "Image 1 of 10" with an arrow in the lower left corner that will take you along to the next picture.

Lovely show there - yes, the Chocolate Drop sure looks like David Kone, doesn't it. those glossy red petals!

Whatever weather relief we had going there for a couple of days is gone and we are back cooking eggs on the sidewalk. It's terribly hot today.

Wonderful show, Ursula and Lindsey. The Bc Binosa 'Tetraploid' is beautiful but my best in show is the Cirrhopetalum putidum with its doodaflatchies and fangs. You should never vote against something with doodaflatchies and fangs.

Lindsey, nice looking Psychopsis.

Opening this past weekend is Brassia Memoria Fritz Boedeker 'Witch Doctor'.

This 'Emerald Isle', HCC/AOS came into bloom Saturday. This plant also is in sheath. This was a division taken last January from a 5 yr old "mother" plant and the mother plant had a whopping 34 blooms. She stayed in bloom from early September until the middle of December. The flowers are approximately 6" in diameter and are wonderfully fragrant. The first two pics are of the division and the last three pics are of the mother plant, taken in Oct. 2011.

I have this divison as well as other divisions of the mother plant for sale. They are blooming size, either in flower and/or sheath, or have new growth not yet in sheath. I also have lots of other orchid plants for sale and they are all of the Cattleya Alliance. Some are blooming size (some in sheath) and some are smaller, 1-2 yr old plants not yet blooming size but much more reasonably priced. If interested, contact me by tree-mail and let me know what size plants you are interested in and perhaps what color(s) you might be looking for. I will then send pics and prices of those plants I have for sale. ATP members always receive a nice discount off my regular pricing.
