Anthony....

A strategically placed mirror can be useful for capturing those confounded downfacing lilies...

Anthony, you are right, it is my bathroom mirror. But it is only 6 inches in diameter. So the bathroom wall is still intact!

Nice idea with the mirror pard. And Anthony I hope things get better. One thing I ended up learning with severe drought and heat and wind here, I call it survival of the fittest. Some that I thought would do well and there were some surprises. I think mostly new planted bulbs even, planted very deeply, were not established enough to cope with the environmental stresses.

I've often wondered about using mirrors in photography, but really haven't gotten around to investigating much. It would seem the perfect solution when a large depth of field is critical, but can't be done via traditional methods.

For example, when taking photos of lilies, the petals can be well in focus, bu if the stigma sticks out too far (and is much closer to the camera), it is not in focus. However taking a picture of a mirror image of same, everything should be perfectly clear since the entire image (the mirror) is equal distance from the camera lens.

It seems so logical, but then why haven't I ever hear of it before?

Really cute Anthony!
But why are the pics off-focus?
I also have problems with my oh-so-easy-to-use camera...but a pain in the BEEP! when I need to take close-ups...
Sometimes I need to take 5 identical pics for a good-enough one.
