I've often wondered about using mirrors in photography, but really haven't gotten around to investigating much. It would seem the perfect solution when a large depth of field is critical, but can't be done via traditional methods.
For example, when taking photos of lilies, the petals can be well in focus, bu if the stigma sticks out too far (and is much closer to the camera), it is not in focus. However taking a picture of a mirror image of same, everything should be perfectly clear since the entire image (the mirror) is equal distance from the camera lens.
It seems so logical, but then why haven't I ever hear of it before?
