Thanks, Tabby. That's what I'd a thunk, but I wasn't sure how to make it happen with the sandwich bag pinch pots... it will probably be more obvious when I do it! I think hypertufa is probably pretty easy to drill, but much easier to remember to just stick something through the bottom to make a hole while you're making the pot.

I'm hosting a get-togetehr with a hypertufa workshop on the 23rd (come on up!), and this will be a great thing to do with those handfuls of leftover 'tufa.

When I make hypertufa, it's stiff enough that I can shape a hole in the bottom with my finger.

Well I finally got another raised bed reclaimed for sempervivum use.
Here it is in the scary state.


Next stage, cleaned out and filled with forest compost


Topped with sand and chicken grit


Mixing is hard work, but some one has to do it.


All planted I did the planting, since Nikki wore herself out with the mixing.


Two more beds to go.

I should have mowed the lawn before I did the bed, but I was so focused on having that bed done and the plants into the bed.
But I still had enough energy after planting to clean up the mess and mow the lawn before the arrival of more rain today.
Stiff and sore, but very happy.

She was so funny when I asked her to get in the bed. She looked up at me and cocked her head to one side, as if to say 'And what kind of game is this?' You know I'm not suppose to get in the raised beds. She posed, but would not dig.

I got that piece of tree at a yard sale. Every one thought I was joking when I asked how much he wanted for it. He gave it to me.

You must have endless energy. I don't know how you do it. I planted two pots today and had to take a nap...

Did I neglect to say that Cliff helped me fill the bed with compost? The rest I did.
Made up all the new permanent tags and installed them yesterday.

No rain today, so will go out and work in the yard. I dreamed last night of the back yard fill will raised beds, not room for anything else.
