He does have a mane.. male cats always has a "bigger" head than females. and I think the stats for a male calico/torti is like 1 in 3000 or so. But this article says 1 in 400,000. wow

Oh my, I actually wrote 'his' and Scout is a female Hilarious! I just edited my comment. Scout has a co-conspirator, her sister Bella. Both of them are fatty patty kitties, eat too many gophers I guess!

I could definitely use some gopher-eaters around here, but the gophers seem to be smarter than my dogs and the cats don't roam the gopher-ridden areas.

A bit of Zuzu's yard today. We had a great time wandering around seeing the new blooms and then hitting the wholesale nursery to pick up a few things and then ending up eating a late lunch at one of my favorite places, with a house margarita! In a celebratory mood, yes we were!

This is Midnight Blue. I just bought it. The scent is deep and wonderful.

Thumb of 2013-04-24/CindiKS/48af98 A river of muscari and daffodils. Wish I could get a better photo, because the muscari (grape hyacinths) cover an area about 40' long.
We had snow this morning! I've never had such an extended daffodil bloom season. I have over 200 varieties. We have a super daffodil club here, and we go together to bring in many unusual kinds. This is the only area where I have all of the same kind.

Cindi - Nice! Can you just back up w/your camera to take the full shot? 40' of muscari must be BEAUTIFUL. And I like Midnight Blue.. doesn't shatter, keeps the scent, and doesn't look too terrible when it fades, either.

Sue, I unfortunately use my phone camera instead of my "real" camera, so i never get clear images. Maybe sometime soon my daughter will give me lessons on editing photos and importing from the camera....... *Blush*

That was Toni that asked Whistling

But I use a photo card reader that you plug the camera memory card into, super easy and then I use Picasa, a free program, to crop and edit, also easy.

I didn't trim or clean any of my roses this past winter. I am pulling off a few of the spotted older leaves here and there but several of the roses look absolutely fabulous and I am going around and checking them all, the ones that look scraggly and with lots of ugly leaves may not stay. I am spoiled on what the Kordes roses look like and everything else is being compared to them.

These are my best looking Kordes roses that seems to look good throughout the year:
Always #1 with shiny leaves, Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale Rose (Rosa 'Gebrueder Grimm')
Aloha Hawaii, it's huge and gorgeous blooms! Rose (Rosa 'Aloha')
Caramella, also huge with gorgeous blooms Rose (Rosa 'Caramella')

Keep all these great pictures coming ya'll.
Re: Midnight Blue...was this rose originally introduced as "Route 66" ??? I had R66 once, but it got smashed to pieces when someone's patio umbrella became airborne and landed in my garden in a windstorm. Midnight Blue looks just like it...and I've never even seen R66 anywhere since then.

Anyone recognize this miniature rose ? I got it today for 5 bucks at a farmers market. No tag of course, and the seller had no clue...of course. LOLThumb of 2013-04-25/Calsurf73/597c4b
