I don't think Grigg's Surprise is going to bloom Greg. It's just that some of it's leaves are splitting open.
Where is tabby? She can tell us if hers have even done this.
My Grigg's Surprise is doing the same thing. I, too, have been thinking that what it is doing passes for blooming and am expecting it to die. I'll get a pic so we can compare them. Maybe its doing something else (I hope)
the leaves are doing what my Oddity has done, trying to become flat leaves. But the oddity leaves have all become odd again.
I see my Grigg's Surprise is making new leaves so I don't think it is going to die.
Look what my Utopia is doing...it may be just an offset, and my photo doesn't do justice to how odd it looks, as if its growing a second head - it is misshaping the rosette (and not in a pretty way!)
Greg, I agree with Lynn. It looks like an offset so far. Keep in mind that, depending on the variety, stolons can be characteristically very short to very long. do you know if S. 'Utopia' typically does short stolons?
Greg,
My large Red Rum is doing that but it has a ring of them all the way around there are 5 or 6.
I tried to take a pic the other day but it was raining and didn't.show up.and i saw another diff semp doing the same thing today. Odd almost like a Heuf. does
