Good morning! We had some major thunder and lightening storms last night. And lots of rain. Was hard to sleep through, but I love storms.

I don't think Grigg's Surprise is going to bloom Greg. It's just that some of it's leaves are splitting open.
Where is tabby? She can tell us if hers have even done this.

My Grigg's Surprise is doing the same thing. I, too, have been thinking that what it is doing passes for blooming and am expecting it to die. I'll get a pic so we can compare them. Maybe its doing something else (I hope)

the leaves are doing what my Oddity has done, trying to become flat leaves. But the oddity leaves have all become odd again. Shrug!
I see my Grigg's Surprise is making new leaves so I don't think it is going to die. Whistling

Look what my Utopia is doing...it may be just an offset, and my photo doesn't do justice to how odd it looks, as if its growing a second head - it is misshaping the rosette (and not in a pretty way!)

I could be wrong, but it just looks like an offset that isn't ready to leave momma's protection yet.
Am I missing something?

Greg, I agree with Lynn. It looks like an offset so far. Keep in mind that, depending on the variety, stolons can be characteristically very short to very long. do you know if S. 'Utopia' typically does short stolons?

I don't know...but there are 2 offsets on the opposite side that are on stolons...I'll keep an eye on it. I tip my hat to you. Thanks Thumbs up

They're still developing and coming from the bottom of the plant (which is why this one at the top looks odd) and so far they're less than 2 inches.

I've seen offsets develop like that a few times. They almost look like heuffelii. Just one of those freaks of nature.
