My big bushy fig has quite a few shoots that could likely br severed from the main plant by anybody willing to dig one. I'll try, but not sure I can manage it.

I tried twice, because I do like figs. I do not remember which one I bought, but neither survived----the end of it. Now I purchase them, whenever I go to Wholefood, they usually have some, and nice ones too.

Thanks for the fig info, folks! I do want to try one, I know they are hard to grow in cold weather unless you wrap them.

I'm afraid we are not going to be able to come to the spring swap :(
My older son is graduating from college that morning, just found out! Jill, we will be passing by Frederick on our way to his college on Friday so I could still give you your rose, how far are you from 70?

we're quite close to 70, but you'll have better things to be concerned with, Sheela!

So exciting to have a new graduate!!

Jill, not a problem since we're going a day early, we'll have plenty of time - I need to get my trays/domes also from you, so we'll make a stop Friday afternoon on our way to the hotel. You can send me your address in an email to me anytime. I may even be going to Frederick towards the end of April as well, so one of those times I can stop by and do all this, thank you! I may even drop off some perennials for you to take to the swap if you have room.

Why does the graduation be on Swap day too? I still do not know if I can get a ride.

Martina can't make it to the swap. Not sure yet about Theresa.

I'll try to get some fig cuttings this week. I might try putting a couple in containers, myself. I think if I put them on/near the side patio, I should be able to drag them into the garage for the coldest part of the winter. I don't get figs every year on the one by the corner of the house, but potted figs should fruit more reliably.

May 1st is here and swap is approaching. I was thinking about the pot luck and remembered that the two times I hosted before that Mike grilled hamburgers/cheeseburgers. That is simple and easy, so that will be the plan again for what we provide. We'll also grill some of the pineapple/bacon flavored chicken sausages that I get from Costco that has become a staple for our summer cookouts.

I'll keep the top post of this thread updated as people chime in with what they are bringing. I haven't looked at the swap offerings yet, but will start adding to it too.

Looking forward to the get-together!

Terri, do you want me to do the deviled eggs? Seems like you have enough going on without fiddling with them.

Somebody please remind me, what's the low growing chartreuse ground cover sedum that will soon have yellow blooms called? I've shared it before. You can just throw cuttings onto bare ground, and they'll take root (spreads easily!). I just made up 8 little pots of it and can't find its name. edited to add, it's not Angelina, it's the other chartreuse one!

Jill, sure if you want to make the deviled eggs it will be one less thing I've got going on that morning. Thanks!

Have no idea what the yellow flowered ground cover is. Maybe Yellow Archangel (Lamium galeobdolon)? I know RickM has shared that in the past. Don't remember if it is something you have as well.

I don't think that's exactly it, but I'll put it on my trade list as Yellow Stonecrop for now and wait for SallyG to tell me... I know she's told me before! Sadly, it no longer seems to be on my master tradelist.

I'll grab a photo when it's not sprinkling.

Yes!! Thank you! Its only drawback for me is that a solid chartreuse carpet just doesn't work in most of my garden areas. Mailbox garden has yellow dwarf iris, purple salvia, and a tiny purple geranium... it works well there, but I've made an effort to keep it out of the back yard.

hope somebody can use it

I'll take whatever you don't want. It's easier to manage the creeping Jenny.

Rick, I've pulled it from places where it shouldn't be at all, but in a couple of weeks it'll be even thicker and longer in the mailbox bed. In addition to whatever pot aren't claimed, would you like a bag of cuttings? Some will have roots, some not, but my experience has been that even a piece just dropped onto bare ground (or even onto mulch) is likely to root. It IS similar in color to the golden form of creeping jenny, although it gets a bit taller.
