Just a January 2017 photo update of my passionflower plant, getting all the rains and fluctuating overnight temps. When it rains it keeps temps at the mid to high 40F's, but once we get into dry time it goes down to mid to high 30F's. So far it is holding well.

Just have to reinforce the trellis, soil is too wet already.

Tarev, it might be a good idea to plant your passy in the soil and provide some wiring on the fence for it to cling on. You have raised a beautiful an healthy plant - congratulations!

This spring (Sept. to Dec. for us) I sowed several Passiflora species, but messed up with the lables. Sighing!

Hi Ursula, sadly I do not have that space here, so all my plants are in containers. Been trying to get used to drought conditions here, though, hopefully we are for now out of it after all the rains this winter.

But I am really glad this variety is more tolerant of dryness, it did not croak last summer, while my other more drought tolerant ones croaked. So tempting to let the vine run along the fence..but will get in trouble with our HOA. I think I will just another trellis beside it, and rearrange some containers for it by Spring.

Just ordered 5 passifloras from logees. I like their quality, have ordered my hoyas from them in the past.
One of my passi order is Triloba, too beautiful to pass up.
I have plans to erect a 100' fence, using temporary metal cattle posts every 7 feet and a strong gauge wire for the top strand. Once driven in the ground, the fence should be about 4-1/2, high. Probably will use poly baling twine for the middle & lower strands, then fill in with string bean netting to help the tender shoots take hold. Open to suggestions !

Thought I'd give this a bump as I have some new passies in the ground.

Just finished this trellis. That is a 'Racemosa' on the left and the smaller one on the right is a 'Snow Queen'.

Also, just a heads up, I know 'Incarnatas' are aggressive multipliers... but our 'Incense' is also VERY aggresive! I've now noticed 6 more tiny little vines poking their heads up within a roughly 7 or 8 foot radius in the area.

And our 'Lady Margaret' is blooming.

The 'Lavender Lady' and 'Incense' are ready to bloom any day now.

Stay tuned!

Nice trellis Joseph! Glad you posted it, I forgot already where this thread about Passies are!

Sharing photos of my solo bloom a couple of days ago, I think our sudden cool down helped:

Nice work, Joseph, and it will pay off when the passi start climbing.
You give me hope, mine are behind your progress. Just starting. I created a 100 foot trellis with a black plastic ground cover. I planted 5 different passi and right now they look like they don't need all that room, but time will tell!

Thanks Tarev and Kathy.

I am new to passiflora and last year I gave as a support bamboo canes and tomato cages. It was not a pretty scene. I noted they liked to grab onto things instead of twine like morning glories, so I tried the planar approach by lashing two wire sections to the green plastic rods. The plants are readily adopting the supports, much to my delight.

Your work in progress is impressive, Kathy.

Tarev, your passies are so beautiful!

@werepanda, hey Scot, I saw your 'Lady Margaret' pix from April 17th and wonder if you could post another pix - can you include the whole vine in the pix so I can see?
I have one just starting, see post above, I'd love to see what I'm in for ! Are they heavy bloomers?

Thanks, Tarev. There are only a few buds on my 2 plants but they seem to be increasing in number with every week.
