I'm glad it bloomed at 5 feet tall, I was tempted to chop it up early this year, glad I did not. I could already see 4 branches coming out of it! How's your Plano Special? Hope you got several branches too.

Wow 4 branches ?! I'm so glad you didn't chop it up. Smiling Hopefully you'll be able to smell the blooms soon. Plano Special is doing great, its still in bloom, though only a few unopened buds remain. It produced 3 branches so next year I will have more opportunities for blooms Thumbs up

Here are my babies

Tillie Hughes and Celadine started last year

Thanks Hetty! I am getting excited with my seedlings. I have several more...65+ now. Hopefully, they will bloom in 2 to 3 years at 3 to 5 feet tall. Several of them are already branching out and leaves and branches are reddish color. Very promising! Hurray!

That's great that they are branching out already. I have a couple of Celadine seedlings that branched out, but that's because the tops were damaged. Hilarious!

and some people will do this on purpose to create more opportunities for inflos. I personally believe in letting nature take its course.

I love your babies Cameron!!! Be careful in handling your seedlings, the branches are tiny specks at first so they easily come off. I broke one branch, pencil size and only 3.5 inches long. I was upset and stuck it on the dirt (leaves and all), now it is growing on its own.

Some growers would actually pinch or scratch their seedlings on purpose to encourage branching out. I haven't done that yet. I let it be.

Thanks Gigi! Hetty the tops shriveled up for some reason. I thought I was going to lose the whole plant because it was spreading. So I cut off the dead and it ended up producing quite a few branches. This happened after I brought them outside. Do you know what could have caused it? I kept the soil fairly dry. I'll probably end up cutting off some of the branches because the plant may not be able to support itself.
