Sadly, today I cut down the Cosmos and Agastache. Last night was the coldest thus far this Fall, and frost was on the grass this morning, so plants are melting back into the earth.

A long rolls of leaves in the backyard waiting to go down the hill into the woods. It comes back as compost. Originally was the site of our manure pit. DH slides them on a tarp. Much easier on the body than wheelbarrow etc.

That's a great way to compost and cleanup all at the same time, while saving one's back! Love it!
Hurray! Hurray! Would make a great Tip of the Day, Lucy!

You have to have an area to store the leaves. Sometimes DH adds a bit of compost heating powder to help out. don't ask me what it is I don't know. tip of the day? Moving leaves around on a tarp? Don't have any pictures of that.
