We are getting an unexpected bonus dry day today. We even had sunshine this morning but now it has clouded up. 63/46. I'll probably work in the yard after I go pick up my violin. 🎻

A severe thunderstorm passed through here last night. Maverick was terrified and this one was so loud it even frightened Tempe, who is not usually afraid of the storms. It's odd but the living room sofa seems to be their "safe" place and I took both dogs to the sofa where we spent about half the night until the storm passed.

Completely overcast this morning, drizzly, very windy. Predicted high 72, low 55, more thunderstorms possible this afternoon.

My dog Lucy was always terrified of thunderstorms. She would pant and shake and stuff herself under furniture…so sad! I would tell her to look at Benny the cat, stretched out asleep in the middle of the floor, but it never made any difference. She probably figured Ben was too stupid to sense danger and she was probably right.

Our dog Ayla (big dog, twenty + years ago) used to pant, shake and try to crawl in my lap. She could not be comforted and I don't think thunder shirts, etc. existed then. First time Tempe's ever been frightened; I suspect it was the sudden loud cracks that got her. I had given Maverick one of his ThunderWunders (hemp seed) but those take awhile to have an effect. They do seem to help though. We have had some dogs who were afraid of thunder and some who didn't seem to notice. I have no idea why!

I'm thinking that line of t-storms you both had, Donna and Nan, were the ones that went through Tennessee last night? I saw that line of storms on the radar before bed, the whole state of Tennessee getting covered in red and yellow. The images this morning of tornado destroyed homes and businesses are heart wrenching. Glad you're both ok.

We've been cloudy, damp and chilly. Yesterday saw several rounds of showers come through. A clean house, feed the woodstove day. Today was a little better warming up this morning with a few short peeks of sunshine so I could get outside for a few hours. Temps today were 47 & 57.

Ours were definitely not as bad as the ones that hit Tennessee.

The rain stopped last evening but has resumed this morning. We will have thunderstorms till late morning and then it looks like a gradual clearing. We had .5" last night; we'll see what the total is. The yard really needed the rain, but obviously I won't get much done outside today. I will try to sneak out there for a few pictures and to check for FFOs. I know any of you would do the same.
