Connie, I love ordering in 3's , 6's and 20's... I copped the same thing last year, from ,'Fothergills'.. rotted/rotten bulbs, packed in sawdust.. I complained and received more rotted bulbs from the company.. Nothing made it through to this year... Why even send the junk?,.,.Im about $35 out of pocket!

Sue--Oystein said it best the other day when he said something like (even to an experienced seeder, sometimes a nice surpize happens) and, yes, It makes a seeder pretty darn happy. Did you see all the pictures of Tracey's nice seedlings also? Alltogether, I think we all have many reasons to be happy with what we've created! This one was sort of double exciting because of all the unusual lucky twists of fate historically this one and its heritage have taken through time--just to be here under my care and alive 'today'. And, you're right--one doesn't see a pretty wine red like that in Trumpets very often--if ever.

Got it! Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

But it's so easy to import them yourself directly from the thread you post them in, just enlarge image, click on 'import to database', (I always right click to open a new tab so I don't loose original thread) enter cultivar name and click through to submit. I am a big cheerleader for growing the database and cruise through so many ATP threads finding many wonderful images that have never been added to their database entries. I wish more people or at least the forum moderators would help catch and preserve these beautiful images. Green Grin!

This was bought as L. henryii citrinum but I'm not sure what it is really. It's more a golden colour than yellow. I'll see if I can get a better picture tomorrow.

There is a gold henryi.

Paula Marie looks quite interesting.

jmorth--I got Paula Marie for my pollenation/seeding work. I was looking for a shorter, strong stemed plant with fairly neutral color to work with on some of my green tones. But I can see it would go nicely in a mixed garden as well. About 40 inches tall with lots of medium dark green foliage. Very sturdy and hardy.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope it developes nicely and stays desease resistant. It's nice the way it is, but I think the pistil is a little long and the red is a little to free flowing on the sepals on the later flowers so I pollenated some nice all whites (no such thing) which may dilute it a little. Nice apple blossom throat with small green star. Hard to get a good picture of that. I'm glad you like it--it is prettier in person when it can be viewed in all-dimension.

Brian--I wasn't happy at all with Griesbach strains I got this year either. But it's their first year here; I think the color I see this year may have a lot to do with where it was grown last year. Can't pass judgement just yet--but I kinda feel like you do right now.

Thanks Lorn. I have a better idea what the inflorescence looks like when one steps back a bit.
