Thanks for the heads up Marilyn! Been wanting to compare their offerings with Brent and Becky's before ordering!

I've got crates of bulbs curing all over my covered porch, and several more clumps to dig. I do love seeing bulbs though, and thinking about the embryonic blossoms waiting inside.

Several daffs are up for thinning this year, and some of the early ones had yellowing foliage and were ready to dig (and some others are not far behind). I enjoyed the single late tulips from Colorblends so much I decided to dig and store those to ensure future years of bloom; one of those blends had yellowed and are curing on the porch. Although Darwin hybrids are good for returning, I went ahead and dug those too because I'm doing some work in the area I had them. They will likely go back into that bed. Also dug some pink hyacinths that I had dotted clusters here and there several years ago. Lately I'm preferring hyacinths in bigger clumps so that the fragrance is more pronounced, so this fall I'll re-plant them all together.

It is, but fun work. And it has been my way of dealing with nicotine withdraw- tomorrow makes 5 weeks since I've had a cigarette- wooohoooo!!! Every time I feel the urge to smoke, I get up and do something- usually in the garden. Needless to say, my garden looks really good this year, LOL. I'm also enjoying having more energy and stamina.

Good for you, Neal! 5 weeks is a real accomplishment, and you picked a good time of year for it... lots of lovely things out there to distract you as well as to give you lots of little reasons to increase your chances of sticking around for a long time! I'm always so pleased when somebody I care about manages to quit smoking... I'm cheering you on!

Thanks Jill, good to see you posting! True that this is the perfect time of year to quit- winter makes me stir crazy, lots of beautiful distractions now.

Thanks Ann! I turn 49 next month, and it has been on my mind to quit before turning 50...well, it was on my mind to quit before 40, then 45.....you know how that is. Then when PollyK died last month of cancer (not smoking related I don't think), I was so saddened by her passing, it felt disrespectful to her memory to inhale carcinogens.

Now I'll be a mean bulb planting machine!
