They're tiny, but a real delight at this time of year! The blooms are about the size of a dime, probably bigger if the petals were flattened out. And there are lots of buds surfacing! I can see how after a few years of establishing, a mass of them could be striking.

Thank you!

I so love cyclamen. They are just charming and I have never seen them growing in the ground, only in pots. I can envision how they make a big statement en masse. Can you imagine happening across a large mass of them on a walk in the woods?

Most sources say they will seed themselves if happy, so I bet there are some old gardens where you could find just such a sight- that would be awesome! These were planted in spring as bulbs, and the first leaves arose in September.

I planted five early this month. I hope they grow and bloom next fall. Yours are lovely, Neal.

Bonnie, where did you get yours? These (5 also) were from Brent and Becky's spring catalog, and I noticed they were also offered in fall. In fall I got 5 C. hederifolium from them, and they have been sprouting foliage, which started about a week ago. Something I have found interesting is the growth habit; leaves and blooms arise sporadically in a radius around the tuber, making it look like there are many small plants sprouting.

I got mine from Brent and Becky"s. I had a small order and added the cyclamens on also. This is one of those plants that I always plan to get and always forget.

Same here, for years I've intended to get some. Except I didn't forget, I just kept blowing my budget on bigger, flashier bulbs! LOL Now that I'm older, I've become more captivated with the little guys.

You're most welcome Annette! I agree, blooms at the end of December are a Godsend! Oooohh, you could try some around your Peonies for another season of color! Do you grow any Hellebores? I have one blooming, the earliest I've had one bloom, but I think in your zone you'd see blooms most of the winter.

Yes I do have Helebores. When I was working in the garden yesterday, I saw one of them with buds . I'll have to check it during the week to see it it opens.

I planted 2 Metallic Blue Lady last year, but I haven't seen them bloom yet. I have several others, unfortunately I didn't save the tags, so I dont have their names. They've been in the ground for several years, and some of them must have dropped seeds, because I have Helebore babiesšŸ˜

All of my bulbs are finally planted. Today was a beautiful 54 degrees. We're predicted to have some warmer temps over the next few days, which should give them a chance to start rooting. I'm so glad to be finally done.

Planted today:
5 OT lily Lavon
3 Giant Squill bulbs
30 N. Delibes

I also had a chance to do some garden clean up, getting ready for spring. I noticed the Ice King daffs continue to grow, and some of my tulips are starting to emerge, not affected by our 12 degree temps last week.

I'm starting to get spring fever, and I can't wait to see the bulbs start blooming.
