A. Ladybugs eat Aphids. Aphids are soft bodied insects that suck the juices out of plants. If you have roses in your garden, you have seen aphids. Aphids also come in a variety of colors and not all ladybugs like all the "flavors" of aphids. Ladybugs will also feed on scale insects and plant mites. - See more at: http://www.ladybuglady.com/Lad...

The last time that happened to me, I went to the doc and they told me they have changed the treatment. They no longer give antibiotics until there is a sign on the skin where the bite was because to give the antibiotics every time, the body will become used to them and they will no longer help when you really need them. Makes sense I guess. Keep an eye open for a bulls eye or soreness around the bite. Of course when I got Lymes I had no idea I even had a tick bite. I had no visible signs and eventually just became ill. So, you are really between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the ticks.

That's one good thing about living where we do -- it's too cold for the ticks! Hurray! I think we've seen 2 in the 30+ years we've lived here...

If you think you want antibiotics, but can't get them, eat lots of good (not all celery seed) curry. I knocked out a bladder infection with high end - high in turmeric, cumin, clove, ginger, cardamom - curry powder. I like mine with lamb, carrots, potatoes, tomato, garlic and onions. Mmmmm, top it off with some plain yoghurt.

The other super high anti-bacterial is oregano. Beware, oregano oil and fresh oregano is hotter than hell and will burn your mouth or skin if used topically. Dilute oregano oil with olive or another non-GMO oil.

I guess we can use all the components of that curry powder since most of them are already in our spice racks!!

I get an extreme reaction to tick bites...the area is very swollen & inflamed, even with antibiotic cream on it.....my doc usually puts me on antibiotics because of my history with tick-borne disease...I was on prednisone for 10 years because of the bacterial arthritis I got after a tick bite.....my rheumatologist never called it Lyme....just said it was bacterial, & may have been Lyme.....

Confused OOOOH! Thought you meant a cactus cactus, about which I know nearly nothing! Big Grin
I have several Christmas/Thanksgiving cacti, some from JB. I would love a lot more, but can't accommodate them in my apt. Just wait til yours blooms!

I have a bunch of Thanksgiving/Christmas cactus finally starting to shoot out roots. I think the soil I had them in was too dry. I also have 1 leaf from a Jade plant sending out roots & another leaf from the same Jade going crazy in a pot, he looks to be sending up a stem. My unhappy Jade that I picked up a month or two ago has taken off and even though he was super leggy, he looks to be sending out leaves further down on his stem. Unfortunately, I think he has mites.
allons-y!
