Just a guess, but maybe the explicit Home button is for absolute newcomers who haven't noticed that the logo is clickable.

Here's a wacky idea that would probably look horrible to normal people: put the skinny menu bar over on the left, SIDEWAYS and make it float in the left-hand column so it was always visible. Then maybe shrinks the width of the left column.

Then we would all need chiropractors from twisting out necks 90 degrees sideways. Besides, if floating horizontally is not uniformly supported by mobile apps, floating sideways would be even less likely to be supported.

Hmm? In my Inbox, after answering a TreeMail, I had to CTRL + HOME instead of CTRL + UpArrow to get to the top.

In forums, it was CTRL + UpArrow.

I just uploaded a new batch of code, including an experimental floating icon bar on the left.

I've added a Home icon to the buttons and removed "Home" from the list of links.

Also, when you first load a page the icons are "stuck" on the page right under the logo. But once you scroll down a ways, they will re-appear in the blue area and stay there.

I love the sticky aspect of the basic buttons on the left! (Waiting with bated breath to see how it works for cell-phone users.)

No sooner do we ask for the impossible than we get it!

And I can always hit the "Little House on the ATP" to get to "my links".

But my lazy, greedy, want-it-all-plus-egg-in-my-beer leads me to ask if you can add our custom buttons to that left-side-floater?

I was wondering about that, too, Rick.
AND, I liked the ATP logo blending into the banner, too. Clean lines are one thing, but stark is something else. If I have to be in a box, I at least want it to be a soft box.

I prefer the fade logo, but that's simply artistic, no biggie. One thing so far on iPad, and not sure if what could have made a difference but, when I used to open a picture I had a heck of a time on the ipad getting back to the thread. I would have to scroll to black background and tap several times before i could get out of the photo. I just tried it an I tapped, very lightly and got back to the thread immediately. Sometimes I hesitated opening pictures up full size for this reason. So I'm very happy about that!

The fade logo might end up being a relic of the past for a wide variety of reasons, most of them technical.

I think I've handled every issue that has been reported so if you're noticing any issues from here out, please let me know!

That's good. Is there no "ESC" key on the iPad?

"ESC" is my go-to key for get-out of photos here.

They're baaaack! Missed the floating bar, it's back!

Rick, the keypad disappears when you open photos so, no, no escape!

Failing having the logo fade into the banner, I personally think it would look better if there were a more distinct border beneath the area with the logo and the banner.

I haven't had a chance to read all the comments yet but I'm liking the new page layout and look. I do miss the floating menu bar following me down the page because I use the database icon a lot and I don't like having to scroll up and down.

It's kinda weird seeing this print so small too but that's okay ... I'll just have to squint to proof read for typo's before hitting finished.

What print is showing up small? All the text, or just where you type?

For me, all the text is the same size.

Love the new floating menu on top left. Would love to see our personal links added to that.

My text all seems to be working great with FF.

Just the text as I type in the reply box ... after preview and finished it shows up the normal large size.

I am pleased to say that I just uploaded another batch of code. This one added your custom links to the floating left bar under the icons. So now once you scroll down enough you'll find your custom links will stick under the icons and stay there for the rest of your journey down the page.

Also, the font size in the typing area maybe is better now?
