I had thought a few of my "in the ground" desert roses had died, but if you look close, they are springing back to life

I think this is the plant that Wilfred sent me, I can't see the orange plastic pot on the preview! If it is in an orange plastic pot it had 3 count them three seed pods on this little plant, Wilfred is absolutely fantastic. I intend to re pot it into a clay pot, the plastic holds too much moisture

This little guy was my first attempt at growing from seed, I put it into the ground when it had 4 leafs on it, about two months later it started to die and I put it back into a pot. I have yet to learn when it's safe to put them into the ground. Because it's my first I love Lovey dubby this little guy.

Oh, goodness! I'll post a photo of my babies, probably tonight. Jim, didn't we start seeds at the same time?

Have to build a better home for my two new buddies, brought home from the Agricultural Fair. Cochin Bantams.

Haha, both those eggs fit in the palm of my hand. Tried to eat them, but I really don't like eggs much, and the one I did get into my mouth, well, I KNEW I had an egg in my mouth! Maybe an omelet with lots of cheese...

I put little hooty out when I put my seedlings in the sun, he seems to keep away the birds who eat my young-uns

Melissa, I think so, I guess at how old or young these guys are, I DO know that I don't think they grow very fast, and I have to keep an eye on them every time I put them out in the sun. Bend and lift, bend and lift, getting more difficult every day. Do you remember when you planted your last batch? Confused

valleylynn said:JT, my DH wants to know what you carve? He has an old tool he said I can use. : )
He makes Native American flutes and hand carves the birds that are used over the nest.
The birds actually not always a bird, can be differnt animals, etc. But all are called birds.

If your husband carves birds and other animals he is a much better carver than I.I do Kentucky and plains rifle reproductions. Here are the 6 pieces I start with....

I think these are planted in mostly dead sticks that I got in the yard, and packed in thee pots, then I shuffled in some very gravelly 'soil" Tremendous drainage, and plenty fertilizer. I'm beginning to think these guys need a potting mix of 50% potting mix and 50% air!

I've got enough seedlings that I can experiment with a few, going to try your method on a few minus the plastic pot, and see if I notice a difference. Thumbs up

Jim that is really cool. DH came in and looked at the pictures. He used to have a 50 cal. muzzle loader that he hunted deer and elk with. Made a very big noise. : ) Not the same as what you are making. Would love to see a finished one.

JT, here is the first flute DH made. They are not fancy but make beautiful music. Also the lid he is making for his flute bag. It holds 4 flutes.
