Most of the rhizomes that I get are blooming size, so they should bloom for you next season. Not always the case though, I usually get about 75-80 % of them to bloom. As for the second year blooms-- it depends how fast of an increaser the variety is. Sorbonne, I have been waiting a couple years for it to bloom and Okapi Poppy multiplies like a rabbit.

I think I have a whole bunch of slow increasers then. *sigh*

Some varieties might be better suited for colder climates also and visa versa.

I have at least one that doesn't like the heat: Apollodorus. Most of it's buds dry up and fall off before blooming. And I am not sure Edith Wolford is very happy with the heat either.

Thanks all, for the comments. I'm glad you are enjoying the pictures. It sure is time consuming to upload them all.
Sue, we came to that conclustion about "strut" a few frams after that. I'll have to go back and edit it.
Jan, Good to see you, been hiding in the Day Lily forum?? I have lots of Burnt Toffee if you would like some.
Leslie, Edith is not a good grower, at least that's what I hear. I have a little rhizome that I have babied for a while, and I see it's going to bloom this year.
Here's a couple more pictures. It's gotten really windy, so there won't be more until that stops.
Mary Ann, this ones for you!

OK, we need an UNDO button on here, I just spent 10 minutes uploading, and highlighted one thing I wanted to delete, hit the delete key and lost the whole page! Angry Angry Angry
I have to hurry as I need to finish mowing the lawn, so only a few more for now.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Zesting Lemons is really a bright one.
I will try the arrow thing if I loose another page.
Yes, Sue, if you can fix my spelling error, that would be nice
I have so many more pictures to take, but the wind is not letting up. Been staking the ones I made crosses on so I don't loose them.
Here's a couple more pics from this mornings run.

You have some extraordinarily beautiful irises. I love the blues. Is Stan Coates a real blue.... I love it?! Definitely Different definitely is.....beautiful. I especially like the ones that have 'trim' or 'rims' on them. I also hope the weather is kind to the irises. I am loving the pictures!

Thanks Bonnie, This is the first time Stan has bloomed, and it is really a nice soft baby blue.
