Beautiful seedlings, guys!

Fred, I especially love your EC seedlings, and this spring I really noticed those types of curly spiders in my garden -- they looked like big bows standing out here and there -- absolutely beautiful! But unfortunately that incredible show is now over for me as I'm stuck here at the beach for two weeks so I'm missing the very last of it. Not that I'm complaining, mind you -- it's absolutely gorgeous here! But I had some new (to me) beauties to enjoy such as MAGIC OF OZ, CHRISTMAS IN OZ, LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL and DANCES WITH GIRAFFES, plus I finally got LILLIAN'S WOMAN'S TOUCH in the ground and she really took off. I think anyone who does not have these types of daylilies in their gardens should really consider adding some because of their beauty and. Impact in the garden.

Looking back at the parentage of Rosella Flight x Aldersgate it all seems so natural to seek the mix of color and form it shows, but would never have occurred to me to put those two together hoping for the best attributes to show up in a middle-ground of size - obviously a great choice to blend those two. I'd almost wonder if it will be a dormant, since dormants seem to have that more refined coloring. I think the rabbits and the students made some marks, too ... remarkable to see the one petal, it really brings the pattern and color to the eye, and those curls speak for themselves. Do you think your daughter will try to a cross back to the toothy seedling - such a nice color and form in her seedling to continue on with.

Tina, repeated the rosella flight x Aldersgate cross several times. Planted all them out to let nature select the northern hardy ones. Last year 2 bloomed (including this one) Hopefully I see more of them this year. Only have 8 seedlings from this cross still kicking.

Cara, my 14 year old daughter, is still deciding what to cross her seedling with (stored some pollen today) Thumbs up

Nice seedlings Lisa. I grew, registered and released Aldersgate for Mr. Temple and have never registered a daylily from it in the fourteen years I have had it. All my seedlings looked to much like it or they had poor scapes, good luck with yours. I will release one in 2015 from Tet Aldersgate which has a great scape.

Trying to get ahead of the weeds before more scapes get started growing. Still waiting to see scapes on a large majority of the garden.

Really enjoying seeing the beautiful seedlings posted over the past few days! The broken pattern one is really cool missed mentioning it, sorry kidfishing. A bit off topic but in reply to Gleni....One that was registered this year with a broken pattern is Explosion in the Paint Factory (Howard 2014). Entertainment X 2, not only in color but the name is fun! Smiling

Broken patterns and stripes - has anyone seen a gathering of information for how they tend to perform in the garden yet?

Char, thank you. That is just amazing. Wow. This is an interesting development in daylilies. Great name: humorous and excellent allusion.

Not to take anything away from your seedling Kidfish. Is that pattern on all blooms?
