I'm really loving all the seedlings posted this summer. Can't wait for my own to bloom. I have a cross that I did on a whim just to see what might come from it out of curiosity and its going to bloom this year. It's Frans Hal x North Wind Dancer. Should be interesting.

Ashton and Terry, you are getting a lot of amazing seedlings this season. Many of them look like winners!

I only have three new seedlings to bloom this season. I'm pretty happy with this diploid UF out of True to Whim and Persian Pattern. It's taken three years to bloom, but it has tall scapes with five-way branching and 15-16 buds in a year when bud counts are generally low here.
Thumb of 2014-06-22/shive1/f91c76

Bali Watercolor X Electric Mist - This four year old is still growing in part shade since the neighbor's trees have grown so tall and wide. There's a lot I like about it and will line it out after it finishes blooming.

SANGRIA WITH MIA, a diploid UF out of Starman's Quest and Black Plush that I registered earlier this year with 19 buds, showed it could best that. The scape that gets the most sun has 33 buds, and the others have 23-24 buds this time.
Thumb of 2014-06-22/shive1/f029dc

Sun Bear X Julie Newmar - Bud count is down from last year, probably because I set so much seed on this one last year.

Betty and Pam - Thanks for the comments on the Bali Watercolor seedling. I'm hoping it will have better bud count and rebloom when I get it in full sun.

The background lineage on Bali Watercolor X Electric Mist and Sun Bear X Julie Newmar seem like really nice blendings and their seedlings have such a lovely color and pattern. Lower bud counts hardly seem to matter when such carefully bred and elegant cultivars result. Thumbs up Kudos!

Kidfishing - Fabulous edge on the Randy Stephens kid you plan to intro. Congratulations!

I was doing the happy dance when I saw this first year seeding early in the a.m. I love the shade of pink, the darker pencil eye, the ruffles, small cream edge and chubby recurved sepals.

I wasn't too impressed with this seedling when it opened for the first time last week. But today it lived up to it's purpose: a cross designed to produced a pleated (pinched throat) seedling.
